The punch creates beautiful scalloped edge tags of perfect size (2"1/4 x 1"1/2) for name tags for wedding. The tool let's you see where it cuts before cutting so if you want to cut paper with printed names, it works well. I used card stock paper (65 lb/ m2) and it cut it like a charm.

Smaller than I thought, probably better to buy something like this at Walmart or Michael s where you can see the size more accurately, but all in all not bad, I just wish it made bigger tags

HASH(0xa40c5c90) out of 5 stars Not worth the money Feb. 4 2011

I bought this punch because of it's size. We are making our own tags for the gifts at my daughter's quinceanera. I was so excited to get it in the mail, and decided to try it out before we actually get started with the project. Boy, was I disappointed! The part of the punch that has the actual shape is too short on one side, so the paper does not get cut all the way through. To make matters worse, once you press it together, the paper gets stuck!

Don't waste your money!

HASH(0xa40c5edc) out of 5 stars Horrible and useless... March 8 2011
By Amber Morrell - Published on

I bought this item because I wanted to start making my own gift tags. I also bought a smaller version with a tree punch that I planned to use to embellish them. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of these two items; they could punch through thin paper, but not lightweight cardstock (like the thickness of an index card). I tried on several different types of scrap paper, and the only time the punches came out well was on a post-it note. Otherwise it did not punch all the way through, the punch got stuck, or the finished punch was curved and distorted. This is a horrible product and I plan on returning it ASAP.

HASH(0xa40ca138) out of 5 stars It is NOT a 2.5" punch!!!!! May 24 2011

The description of this punch on amazon and even on the product package clear stated that it is a 2.5" punch, BUT IT IS NOT! It is a 3" punch. Do NOT buy if you need a 2.5" punch.

HASH(0xa40ca2dc) out of 5 stars small although says xx-large Aug. 8 2013

Okay so I could have looked up what the size xx large really meant. That was a mistake. These are tiny tags. Sure they are cute, but tiny. The punch is huge and the tag is not even half of the punch's size.

HASH(0xa40ca1b0) out of 5 stars Does the job Nov. 27 2012

I love this punch. I bought it because it was the largest tag punch I could find. I bought it for gifts and showers. Punches through lightweight card stock easily, cute design. I like that it doesn't have the ribbon hole punched, I have several different types of hole punches that I use depending on the type and size of ribbon.

Cons: You can't see exactly where it is punching. Because the catch is in the way it is hard to know if your design lines up. I had to take the punch catch cover off.

It cannot handle thick weight card stock, but the manufacturer tells you that: "max 65lb paper"
