What I love about "Hit The Mark" is how real and human it feels. Erik and Jim talk about the real stuff that leads to success and productivity, like proper nutrition, the value of adequate sleep, learning to say no to projects and requests that take us away from our goals. In reading the book, I really got the feeling that these guys have experienced all the traps and roadblocks and found genuine and practical ways to navigate them on the way to real productivity. It's refreshing that they've kept to the key points and left out the 'filler' that alot of authors use to make their books bigger. You can read this in a day, and you'll have real tools that you can start to apply today.

Well done Erik and Jim!

HASH(0xa481345c) out of 5 stars Decide what you want, commit to your goals, focus, and work like crazy to Hit the Mark! Sept. 8 2014
By Ryan Ripley - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I love practical books! In volume 1 (Ready Aim Fire!) Erik Fisher and Jim Woods taught us how to dig deep and define the outcomes that matter most. In their new book, Hit the Mark!, Jim and Erik move from theory to practice as they outline how to approach your goals and maximize your chances for success. If you have something lingering in your life that you have always wanted to achieve, but have never quite gotten it done, these are the two books that you should be reaching for. Thank you Jim and Erik for these wonderful guides.

HASH(0xa4811e04) out of 5 stars The Best Book On Focus I Have Ever Read Sept. 8 2014
By Chris Morris - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This book meets a very large hole in the world of business productivity books. Jim & Eric zero in on supremely practical steps to find your focus, keep your energy level high, and maximize your time. There are hundreds of books out there that talk about theories, but Hit the Mark! is chock full of time-tested practices. At one point, the authors even say, "Part of this book was written using this method." Nothing like guidance in practices that we can be absolutely certain will work. Seriously, buy this book already!

This book is amazing. I was feeling such a lack of encouragement and ambition before reading (probably because I wasn't managing my time well), but after reading I am ready to hit the ground running! I'm more organized and more driven to fulfill my dream than ever before!

HASH(0xa46c6570) out of 5 stars Wortth the read Sept. 19 2014
By Kyle J. Baker - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I love that they get into actual tactics in this book. Most tips start with common generalizations, but UNLIKE so many self-help books, they go to the next level of.. "here's how we use these free apps to help do that" Which I really appreciate. Tech is the problem, but tech is also the reason so many of us can quit our day jobs to do our projects full-time, so its no surprise that you can level-up your productivity strategies with some apps.

Also, I really appreciate the length of the book - its a quick read, but as a member of their target audience, I have to balance how much time to devote to development, and how much time to, you know, do work. Some great things to think about, I especially appreciate the tip to use Dragon Dictation to use your commute time to blog.
