5.0 out of 5 stars I'm inspired to read the entire series now Sept. 16 2015

I have enjoyed the author's previous works and am enjoying this book as well. It inspires me to read the series in order. I've taught graduate students for over a decade and advised (taught) them as second reader on Masters theses, so I've had some experience analyzing writing for clarity and content. I'm not sure why one reviewer is so harshly critical. I honestly didn't think the criticism was warranted. The author works harder than the average kindle author to correct any mistakes, even solicits reader feedback to improve book covers. His writing style is very vivid and honest. His novels resonate with authenticity. I will continue to read his books.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great continuation of the action and exploits of our favorite ocean going protectors. Sept. 28 2015

While the storyline was predictable. The characters were interesting, I love the Action and the author has a way of inserting historical information in such a way that it flows and melds with the fiction. Sadly, I like many other excited readers am left wanting more. The subjects he skillfully weaves into his stories are revisited throughout the series allowing for a meeting with characters I see as old friends. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book. It is a little off putting to switch between Marsha and Danny's point of view as if you have read the previous books in the series you already kind of know how they are thinking. I personally think that he could probably write about any subject in relation to Cruises and it would be thoroughly researched accurate and Intriguing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy read, no challenge, dialogue not natural, lite mystery Sept. 17 2015

easy read, not a great mystery, good to go to sleep to. Story is OK - ends very quickly, but he uses some history/facts for interest.
My biggest challenge is the style he uses to write dialogue
it is just not natural - almost like he is writing a movie script dialogue
His books based on factual events are good and appear to be well researched,
As a novelist he has a way to go except if you are looking for an easy read as stated before these books are ok

3.0 out of 5 stars An interesting read with some fun bits... Sept. 27 2015

Wow. A hijacking. An iceberg. A bomb attached to the hull. Remind me to never book a cruise on the Sea Empress or the Joan of Arc. :-}

Things that struck me: 1) no attempt to hide some rather strong political opinions regarding immigration, 2) passengers were not screaming to get off of the ship after the first hijack attempt and murder of two passengers. But instead all the Titanic lectures went on as planned, and in excruciating detail?

Also odd how Danny and Marsha's stories kind of thrown into the mix.

All in all, an interesting read with some fun bits. Danny and Marsha dispense with justice a little *too easily*, but I get it, it's fiction, it's a book. But still, they're practically superheroes. Which I guess is the point.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who do you call? Ice breakers! Aug. 31 2016

We took a cruise that crossed the places of the sinking of the Titanic, Lusitania, and the Bismarck. At that time I had not read these books, so I wasn’t apprehensive at all. Now, however, we have a different story. If Marsha and Danny aren’t on board, neither am I! The Joan of Arc is following the trail of the Titanic one hundred years later and also runs into a large ice burg. Since Marsha and Danny are on the Sea Empress a short distance behind them, what could happen?
