Can a Lost Love be Redeemed?
Baker City, Oregon, 1881

Seven years ago, Julia McKenzie rejected the man she loved, wanting to experience more of life. Now, at the age of twenty-four, she regrets that decision. What will Seth think of her, when they encounter one another hundreds of miles from home? Will the man she cared for understand the direction her life has taken and love her in spite of her choices?

Pastor Seth Russell has never completely forgotten the girl he once courted. When she shows up in his new home of Baker City, all those feelings return. But why is she sneaking around town late at night? Even more important, will she reject him and break his heart again, or can God heal the breach between them?

Forget Me Not is part of the historical romance, Love Blossoms in Oregon series, published by David C Cook. This book can stand alone, but is better enjoyed when reading the series and getting acquainted with the full cast of characters from the Love Blossoms in Oregon series.

From the Library Journal Review for book 2 in the series, Wishing on Buttercups.

"Readers will be swept up by the blossoming romance in this second book (after Blowing on Dandelions) in Ferrell’s historical series about the lives of those who traveled on the Oregon Trail. It’s sure to engross fans of best-selling authors Johanna Lindsey and Maeve Binchy."
Library Journal Review - 2/15/14
Ferrell, Miralee. Wishing on Buttercups. David C. Cook. (Love Blossoms in Oregon, Bk. 2)

"An amazing, deeply emotional story. Each of the characters is so sympathetic and well drawn that it was impossible to put the book down. Miralee Ferrell's characters are appealing, with a touching and believable faith journey, and the romance is lovely."

Roxanne Rustand, Author of Duty to Protect

Miralee Ferrell creates a solid five-star novella that is both concise and far-reaching in its message of forgiveness and love. Gentle romance combines seamlessly with the struggles of characters and a town coming to terms with their own prejudices and vocations.

HASH(0xa4843f9c) out of 5 stars Love the series Love Blossoms in Oregon May 29 2014

I enjoyed the first two books in the series and peruse Ms. Ferrell's page every now and then to see if another has been published in this series. I was delighted to find the novella Forget Me Not. According to the Author Notes, this novella was written after all three books in the series was completed, yet this novella fits the plot line between books 1 and 2. I am amazed how the author is able to write a novella after the fact without disrupting established plot lines. Doing that takes a lot of thought and care. Forget Me Not introduces China Town, has themes of judgmental thoughts, forgiveness, and the role of a church. It was fun seeing old characters again from Blowing on Dandelions. Looking forward to reading Dreaming on Daisies when it is released.

HASH(0xa469c204) out of 5 stars A sweet novella to add to this beautiful series! April 15 2014

We're back in Baker City, Oregon to find out why Pastor Seth is still single? I don't usually buy novella's since I think they're not as detailed. I bought this one because I've read the first two books in the Love Blossoms in Oregon series and author Miralee Ferrell has a way of drawing you into the story. To me, this novella was like reading a regular novel! In this story issues such as caring for the down-trodden (everybody has their own calling in life and it's just as important as yours), Unforgiveness (it only hurts you and colors the way you see things). This book is a great addition to the series! Good job Miralee!

HASH(0xa469c1c8) out of 5 stars Perfect little nugget to tide us fans over! March 20 2014

Can a Lost Love be Redeemed?

Seven years ago, Julia McKenzie rejected the man she loved, wanting to experience more of life. Now, at the age of twenty-four, she regrets that decision. What will Seth think of her, when they encounter one another hundreds of miles from home? Will the man she cared for understand the direction her life has taken and love her in spite of her choices?

Pastor Seth Russell has never completely forgotten the girl he once courted. When she shows up in his new home of Baker City, all those feelings return. But why is she sneaking around town late at night? Even more important, will she reject him and break his heart again?

--That is the question isn't it? Julia becomes a really likeable character right away, she is very person's heroine, helping others less fortunate. All of our old favorite characters make an appearance, which you just love, but we learn a bit from some new ones, ones I hope continue to be in the series...

Julia and Seth were once an item, but Julia left abruptly and Seth was always wondering why. Will they recognize each other and rekindle the love? There are so many themes going on here, grace, mercy and forgiveness abound..

You will LOVE this book! This is the best one yet. Each book I believe stands alone but I think if you read them in order, you will love them that much more! Enjoy, I think it will be a blessing to you, much like it was to me!

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed Forget Me Not by Miralee Ferrell. It was a book I didn't want to put down. She brought the town of Baker City to life in such a way that you could imagine you were there. Forget Me Not is a sweet romance, of forgiveness, misunderstandings and finding love again , and having grace. Her characters are described in detail and you can picture each character in your mind's eye..
A wonderful read. I am looking forward to reading more of her books!
Excellent job Miralee.

HASH(0xa469c558) out of 5 stars Inspiring novella, a strong addition to Love Blossoms in Oregon series March 17 2014
By Carole Jarvis - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Forget Me Not by Miralee Ferrell is a novella that can be read after either the first or second novel in the Love Blossoms in Oregon series, set in Baker City during 1881. It is the story of Seth, the pastor who did so much to help Micah in book one, Blowing on Dandelions. This novella is slightly longer than most that we see, and Miralee did a fantastic job with characterization and plot in this shorter format. Readers will also love seeing characters from the other books - Katherine and Micah Jacobs, Wilma and Beth Roberts, and Mrs. Cooper.

I was drawn to Seth in the previous book, so it was great to see him meet Julia, his "lost love" from the past. Julia has matured spiritually over the years and is filled with a passion to make a difference in the lives of downtrodden people. The attraction between Seth and Julia felt real and I loved their tender romance, connected from past to present by the beautiful Forget Me Not flower.

Something that made this novella a favorite with me is the way the narrative shines the light on prejudice - and it was hard to see the way Chinese people were treated, even by church members. Their small but growing community on the edge of Baker City provided cheap labor and hard workers, yet these words by Mei show what they faced: "My boss not care about Chinamen. He think they not people." It always surprises me when Christians act just like the world, and it was a joy to see how Julia affected change in the community's attitude.

There was a scene between Julia and Wilma that really touched me. Wilma, a wise and caring lady from the previous two books, helps Julia see her passion to help others in a different light. To a Julia who is often frustrated that not everyone shares her desire, Wilma speaks these words: " Aren't you judging others for what you perceive as their sin of not caring? . . . God calls all of us in a unique way. As none of us are created identically in appearance or how we think, or feel, we're also not given the same gifts. We must be responsible for where God plants us, rather than judge others for not being in the same place."

Readers will enjoy background information behind this story that Miralee shares in her author's note at the end. I highly recommend Forget Me Not, as well as the whole series. 5-star rating is in comparison to other novellas of this type.

Thank you to Miralee for providing a ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
