How to choose forks
• It’s helpful to first understand that there are many different types of forks, to be used at different points during the meal. Table forks are the most common, used alongside your knife and spoon. These are the largest in the set. Fish forks are specifically designed for eating a fish course, and there are also specialty salad, dessert, pastry, and other types to choose from.
• You should think about convenience when looking at forks. Some are easier to clean than others. While you need to polish silver forks, stainless steel can simply be washed and dried.
• Many forks come as part of larger cutlery sets, and you’ll also find purely decorative options engraved with floral designs or other intricacies. Consider what type of fork you want to fit into your overall dining room décor.
