Product Description

When Grant Hardy, Meltdown’s lead singer, falls off the stage in the middle of a concert while under the influence, his record label has no choice but to step in and take control.

The solution is simple.

Send Grant to rehab and avoid a public relations nightmare by covering it up as a bad case of the flu.

When the rehab facility’s recommendation for extended treatment starts to affect the label’s bottom line, they are forced to find an alternative solution – hire an in-house counselor for the duration of the tour.

There’s just one problem.

Grant Hardy isn’t an addict.

Favorite Quotes:

What you did in your past is just that, the past. There’s no shame right now in this room, Mallory. There’s only you and me.

I’m going to love you forever.

My Review:

Not a typical rocker romance, Fractured Beat was extra special and had an intriguing mystery and a shocking who-done-it I certainly didn’t see coming. A hybrid mixture of suspense, rocker, and adult romance, the plot was entertaining and easy to follow and I was quickly engaged with the storyline. The characters were diverse and appealing, although not always likable - just like most real people I know. In attempted to solve the mystery, I devised and tossed several theories, but I was wrong, so wrong. I was eager to solve the identity of the saboteur but couldn’t settle on just one and had difficulty in determining a motive. Once the romance began, the storyline sizzled and snapped with sensuality, Grant was a rock star after all, and in more ways than one.

Reviewed on behalf of A Book Lovers Emporium 5 stars.

Having not read a book by this author before, I had no clue what the book might be like. I need not have worried, Fantastic story, certainly not your typical R/R. Extremely well written, characters felt well developed and the story flowed so well it was difficult to put down.

Grant Hardy is lead singer in up and coming top band Meltdown. He falls off the stage one night during a concert which leads to all sorts of speculation from management, press and even his band mates that substance abuse is more than likely the cause. He is packed off to rehab. An in - house counselor, Mallory, is brought in to the fold so he can continue with the tour because money cannot be lost, reputations must be kept.

This book is full of surprises, twists and turns, but is sexy and fun too. Mallory has many secrets of her own from her past that she is still dealing with - combine that with a hot headed sexy rock star in trouble and you have a volcano just waiting to erupt. Many twists and turns takes you on a ride that is exciting, intriguing and frustrating at times, this book will have you asking yourself questions in your head and just when you think you know the answers, the author flips it all round and leaves you with your mouth hanging open in shock, surprise, stunned silence !! A terrific book not to be missed

Someone is messing with the band Meltdown and no one is looking into it. Grant is pissed because he ends up taking the fall for it. He is wondering why and who. Mallory gets thrown in as the "babysitter" to make sure the band and more specifically Grant tow the line.

Lots of twists to keep the story interesting. Grant needs to get the rest of the band on board with checking out what the heck is going on.

Getting to know the rest of the band is a real treat and I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for them in coming reads!

This is going to be one great series! I can just tell. I love rocker books, love suspense and of course romance. This book had all three! I have never read an R. B. Hilliard book before and may I say she has a wonderful style. Highs and lows, happy, sad you can’t help but feel it all as read Fractured Beat. The book is packed full of emotion and has twist twists you won't see coming. An awesome read that this reader highly recommends.

Fractured Beat is a suspense filled rockstar romance with a twist that you won't see coming! R.B. has a way with words that keeps you glued to the page from the first chapter. I've read a few of R.B.'s novels and Fractured Beat stands alongside with my other favorites. Told in dual POV and at times retelling of a scene from both Grant and Mallory's perspective showed us that not only are their two sides to every story but perspectives on the same events and done in such a creative way each version of events is fresh to the reader. Grant a strong lead who stands by his claim and not an addict even though others around him question his actions. Mallory wants to do her job but when emotions start to cloud her judgement work wise her heart takes over and I found myself cheering for her even though it goes against rules. I loved the chemistry between our leads which seared the page. I truly enjoyed this first installment in The Meltdown series and I can't wait to see where R.B. leads us next with the band. 5 Stars for Fractured Beat by R.B. Hilliard

it was amazing

Read from November 11 to 12, 2016

Gifted copy for an honest review.
There is a lot to this story, not just Grant and the band but also Mallery and how she ended up being a counsellor. I must say I had a whole mixture of feelings reading this, outrage, anger and puzzlement at the rest of the band members for not once believing or supporting Grant when he was taken ill. Sadness for Grant himself for what happened, pride in him for how he handles it all. Disgust for the so called management team and love for the Hank and the other security guys who do believe in him, support and help him get answers.
Mallery, I don't think she had much of the right support when she was not only training but when she had her accident. No wonder she had so many problems and her behaviour wasn't the best at the time. She turned it all around though all on her own and tried to do better herself and help others. Meeting and getting to know Grant and the others, getting very little information on what happened to him, her training tells her there is so much wrong with it all.
With a few twists keeping you guessing almost all the way through as to the whole truth I got sucked in and tried to figure it out myself, I must say the author did a fantastic job and it wasn't who I thought at first, though I did suss it out near the end before I got the answer. Boy! it is a bit of a shock as well, not just for the reader either.
Great story, I love those that make me use my mind to try and work out the truth even while the characters are doing the same and I will be checking to see if there are other books in this series.
