HASH(0xa1ab1b58) out of 5 stars An icon of the 80's. Introduction DVD could have used an upgrade. June 10 2013
By OrbsnRings - Published on Amazon.com
For me Fraggle Rock is an icon of the 1980's which brings to mind other shows like the Crosby show, Facts of Life and Full House. I remember having watched Fraggle Rock however having been in my early teens I don't recall the original episodes. which left me wanting to give Fraggle Rock: Meet The Fraggles a review.

On this DVD you get six introductory episodes where you get to meet all the main Fraggle characters and their unique personalities. It starts out with Beginnings when Doc first decides to turn his basement into a workshop with Sprocket his friendly companion. Here you get to meet Uncle Matt who is the traveler searching the caves in Fraggle Rock seeking outer space, when he ends up finding the entrance to Doc's basement. The other five episodes that follow are We Love You Wembley, Boober's Dream, Red's Club, Mokey the Minstrels and Gobo's Discovery.

The Fraggles series is not just for children and now a new generation of fans is realizing that Fraggle Rock is a show that adults can also enjoy and watch with the whole family. I enjoy the quirky characters, the message behind their escapades and I am always left impressed by the amount of preparation and work that went into this series. There is a lot of singing and dancing in the Fraggle community which is at times can seem excessive but if you can get past that and view there singing as one of their many art forms it actually becomes enjoyable. My only problem with this DVD is that with all the technology today it would have been so much better if it could have been upgraded before its reintroduction.

The 411 by Maria:

Come on you remember Fraggle Rock right? Ahhhh I loved watching this show with my sisters.

What a great way to introduce my kids to the Fraggles.

The Meet the Fraggles has 6 episodes featuring our favorite little singing creatures the Fraggles! Remember Gobo, Wembly, Red, Boober and my favorite Sprocket well, they are all there dancing their cares away!

Beginnings
We Love You, Wembley
Boober's Dream
Red's Club
Mokey and the Minstrels
Gobo's Discovery

As soon as the music started, we were there singing along and so are my kids now. Enjoy Fraggle Rock for years to come.

HASH(0xa1a670b4) out of 5 stars Animal abuse trigger warning Oct. 30 2015
By Tracie B. - Published on Amazon.com

I am the biggest Fraggle Rock fan. I watch it at night as an escape from the horrors of being a voice for the voiceless all day. Animal and human rights activists have to face a lot of sad and horrific injustice everyday. Fraggle Rock has always been safe in that aspect, as in not being a trigger for my PTSD and anxiety.

Unfortunately, one of the episodes on this DVD was very disturbing. Uncle Travelling Matt stumbled upon some men "shearing" some scared sheep. It was very brutal (as the wool industry is). The animals were violently flipped over, sheared and then thrown off the back of the truck like a sack of beans. I was horrified. I am a 37 year old adult and it scared me and hurt me. Imagine how an innocent child would feel. I volunteer at a farm animal sanctuary and sheep are very sensitive creatures. They get frightened easily and they're very smart and alert.

This is not Amazon's fault, of course, but I wanted to warn parents if they have kids who are sensitive to animal abuse (most are).

I own several Fraggle Rock dvds and this is the only one that displayed any brutality like this. The worst part was that the sheep were not puppets, they were actual living beings and they were obviously terrified.

Animals are not objects or commodities. We have to stop treating them as if they are. We are moving into a new era of compassion for all beings. All animals feel fear and pain, not just the ones we share our homes with. Please make the connection.
