I was disappointed in this book and see it as one of Dean's failures. Too bad. The Frankenstein legend needs updating and this book had many elements that alone would have made a wonderful story. Some plot elements seemed wasted such as the two cops on the hunt for monsters, or pointless such as the ugly dwarf freak and the lovely wife. That was just too weird for words. I suspect his previous co-authors created such a mess that it took him a lot of work to resolve the last book into some sembelence of valdiation for the readers.
The Dr. Frankstein character was well realized and very scary, but that alone isn't enoungh for me to recommend the book.
Look forward to more books, Dean. Keep up the good work.

A nice easy read. Not the Frankenstein of my youth, and entirely new and likable character. If you're looking for a book to curl up with this is very enjoyable. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Chris Passnick
