The book is very basic and mostly for someone who has never been and not looking to explore a lot of the areas . If you are looking for a more in depth review of the island this is not the book in fact at times a found it missing many towns that are not very small and worth seeing
I still would like to find a good travel guide to Sicily

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful Guide to have along Sept. 26 2011

I ordered this book right before we left for Sicily. The information held within was very useful for making the best use of our time. Also gave us some background about places we saw on the tour so we were a bit brighter and better prepared.

Frommer's is my travel guide of choice and this did not disappoint. We tried a couple of the recommended restaurants during our 10 days in-country and the comments were "spot on". If you're on your own in Sicily (and even in you're not), I think this is a good companion to help enhance your trip.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sicily is wonderful, and a guidebook like this really helps April 22 2013

The Frommers guidebook is excellent.

When you read on - please bear in mind that i bought the Kindle version. Kindle has the big pro, that it doesnt weigh more to bring more books. So - it was always handy and with us. The big drawback of course, is that the Kindle is really not designed to be used with reference books. It is hard to find your way in the book on a kindle, and illustrations just are not the same.

As a guide book, we found the information to be both detailed and accurate. We especially made frequent use of the recommendations for food and hotels, and they were always a success.

So - would i make this choice again? I probably would, but the paper version gives more value for your money.
