By Karl - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Beautifully written memoir about a talented attorney who hit bottom because of alcholism. It's amazing how strength, courage and faith can turn a persons life around. You finish this book feeling like you know the author intimately.

HASH(0x9a1935c4) out of 5 stars The BIG Picture in it's finest detal Nov. 30 2012
By Garry Gilfoy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Maryann Fry's first book has captured the essence of human endeavour. Gone is the secular-spiritual divide. We are revealed for what we are and to the max! We are human and spiritual and the turnstiles go both ways. Our power to embrace one is in direct relationship to the other. Here we have a woman with all the personal, social and economic promise our modern world can offer. And, to the outer observer, she blows it. It doesn't matter whether we lose our grip through fraud, accident, or in her case, substance abuse. The fact is we can find new doors to open. And the only ones that can ultimately sustain us are within. And Maryann gives us the key. The tenacity and commitment she once used to master the legal profession is drawn on again in her darkest hours. She leaves no stones unturned... until she is confronted with her spiritual self. Her liberation is our liberation. In each one of us there is the light. Like the Phoenix and like Maryann Fry, we can all rise from the ashes. This is an important book.

HASH(0x9a09b414) out of 5 stars A story of courage and faith! Nov. 21 2012
By Elrond - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This book is an intimate story of struggle and triumph. The honest narrative of a soul that has chosen to go naked and exposed, seen in all its beautiful vulnerability.

We all think we have life mapped out, we think we just have to follow the signs, but this book illustrates how sometimes it is important to lose the road, to lose ourselves and to find ourselves helpless so that we can find our own way back to that hidden store of strength that can point us to our destiny, and to new roads.

This is a brave work, full of truth and love and compassion. From the moment I began reading it, I was one with MaryAnn.

After all, deep down we are all naked...but how many of us are brave enough to risk being seen?

HASH(0x9a1999f0) out of 5 stars Miracles happen with a little help Nov. 23 2012
By Kristina Kaine - Published on Amazon.com

Mary Ann Fry faced her demons, looked them in the eye, knowing that they would never win. All through her struggle to survive and stay sane, Mary Ann knew deep down that there was a reason for her devastating addiction. She knew that a kite can't fly unless it meets with the right amount of resistance. This book is a must read for anyone who wonders if they have the strength within them to conquer defeat. It is also a book for all those who marvel at the sheer glory of the human spirit. Her story will live in your heart like an eternal flame.

HASH(0x9a19c1bc) out of 5 stars Very Spiritual Nov. 23 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
The author conquerors her depression, alcoholism' and suicidal leanings through her extraordinary relationship with God. Her story is intriguing but can become somewhat tedious as she relates her mystical experiences. The format is more circular than chronological. She takes two steps forward and one back as she goes through her emotional and psychic transformation.
