Some reviews state that the watch misses many shots - I have not had it miss any of my shots, even shorter chip shots. It will occasionally (once or twice a round) register an extra shot on a practice swing but it is easy to delete by editing through Garmin Connect or the Garmin Golf app. Also if you forget to select which club you used before you hit the next shot you can add the club in after.
For under $200 Cdn this is a good deal just for the GPS functionality, having game / club relatively automatic tracking as well makes it an incredible value in my mind. I just wish they had instructions that actually instructed....
This watch works beautifully. With a couple of quick app downloads you are up and running. My local courses were picked up instantly with correct yardage, dog legs and hazards. The functionality of the watch is excellent and the best part is it maps out your shots on the courses you play, saves it and gives real yardage of each shot. The stat tracking is excellent and really helps better understand your areas needing improvement.
This watch is a game changer literally. I should have bought this years ago.
You will be very happy with this watch. It is comfortable, nice design for what it is intended for and very easy to use.
Do yourself a favor and grab one now.

I have contacted Garmin Support but they cant help. As a range finder its great but is let down by the missing drives issue. There is no way to record a drive manually, but you can with the Tom Tom watch.
Surely garmin could add a similar feature with a software update.
They may be more interested in getting us all to fork out another £70 to get the CT 10 starter kit to ensure drives are picked up.
If anyone from Garmin is reading this yes i have got the upto date software and no its made no difference.
Another case of Overpromise but Underdeliver.
I have marked the touch screen as just 4 star. I have not used it yet and I don't need to the way I use the watch. I don't think that the addition of touch to the screen is much of a help to me, but it does not detract from the products strengths. Some may find it worthwhile but for me it is a gimmick. The tracking facilities are excellent, especially with the advent of Garmin Golf this year.
This is my best golf buy this season. Yes, it does help you improve. I will not give it all the credit for a recent spate of good form but it must get some of the accolades. It helped me get some much needed consistency to the length of my shots and it was much better than the old S1 in this respect.
It is worth every penny.
The sales experience? Was excellent, packaged well and arrived in first class condition.
Otherwise the watch is good for distances and marking of hazards
My only quibble, a minor one at that, is more products have to be purchased from Garmin to unlock the full functionality available from Garmin golf in terms of analysing one's performance on the course and in practice.
I was never in any doubt how far to the pin making club selection easy, and hazards were pretty obvious (didn't mean I missed them, but that was my golf swing, not the watch).
Post game analytics with the golf app was much better than I thought it would be. The scorecard could be edited (I pressed OK by mistake once but corrected it later) and the ball position for each shot was spot on (including bunkers I found my way into).
Will probably buy a Truswing to work on my driving (need to reduce slices) and as that integrates well with the S20 I have every chance to improve.
One really annoying thing is you need to strike the ball firmly for it to know you have taken a shot. So if you take a light chip near the green for instance, it doesn't always register on the watch and I can't see a way of correcting this afterwards. Maybe someone out there can help me if they know?
