Vector S changes how power is measured and how cyclists get power. Vector S measures power at the pedal, where force is applied. It's a direct measurement power meter that delivers reliable, accurate data. This single-sensing system measures forces on the left pedal to approximate total power.

UPDATE: After 22 months, I started getting power reading of over 400 watts while pedaling easily and should have been getting readings around 100-150 watts. I was also getting readings of around 200 watts when pedaling with only the non-meter right pedal. I was getting the same readings on my head unit (Wahoo Bolt) and my laptop, which was running Zwift with an ant+ dongle. So I know it's not my head unit, which was working fine with the pedals for several months. The Garmin first sent me a new pod. I installed it but still ending up getting the same high power readings. I tried everything else: removed, replaced, and tightened pedal, used Updater software to reinstall firmware and set crank lengths, and replaced battery after waiting several minutes. It appears to me that the pedal unit had gone bad. It's still under warranty, thank goodness. So Garmin is sending me a new, refurbished pedal. With the price tag of these things, I had hoped they would last more than 22 months. At least, consumer service is top quality. Hope the new Vector 3 pedals are better. I think next time I'll might try the Favero Assioma pedals.
Firmware Updates. This Garmin uses a special software, doesn't work with Garmin Connect. I am not sure of the Vector 2 has the same problem, but for me when I try to update I, more often than not get the message that it can't update because it only found one POD. well the 2s is a single pedal system and it only comes with one POD. So I am really not clear why I get that message. Again after multiple battery on and off it works. But still it is a pain. The package came with an extra POD. However no instructions or explanation about why. I tried both Pods and had the same issues.
Garmin support. I have needed Garmin support before. They are close to useless. No phone number to call. 48 hours to answer the email. Information they reply with never fixed my issues. So when I emailed them about my issues with the Vector. I didn't expect much and they didn't disappoint. I got a close to useless email. I never tried to email back. Because really, why bother? I waste enough time trying to get the Vector to work. I just can't add more wasted time contacting Garmin support.
While I did't pay for this item as it was a gift. For the price they charge, you should expect and receive more.
