Product Description

The Gatekeeper's Key may be read without reading the previous novels in the series.

Attacks from Hellish minions have cast the magical world into an uproar. Amid the chaos, Sorceress Krystine Iamides conceals the supernatural from humanity by using her precognitive talents. Unfortunately, luck is not always kind and fate thrusts her alongside her estranged lover while investigating a cult's ritualistic sacrifice. Detective Jean-Luc Chevalier has a reputation for returning from the dead, as well as stealing Krystine's heart.

Now, as cult activities risk exposing magical society, it becomes imperative for the ex-lovers to combine their unique gifts. Jean-Luc and Krys must discover the meaning of standing united; for divided, they will fall.
This novel includes mature situations, spicy sex, and adult language.

HASH(0xa82de8a0) out of 5 stars Some issues I had with The Gatekeepers Key Feb. 13 2015
By Michelle Rattigan - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I have several issues with this book

1.I stayed up till 4am this morning reading the book. The authors might be selfishly unaware that I work with children, and will possibly need medication to get through the day.

2. Because of the many humourous and sassy lines in TGK I laughed out loud at times. A good thing surely? You would think so. Let me give up a little insight into what went down. I laughed at 3.23am, it woke the cat beside me (Sibby Siburton) who farted with the fright. Now the fact that I was forced to read the next seven pages with a cushion pressed to my nose is not the crux of the issue. Sibby meowed for the next hour straight until I FINALLY resorted to locking him in an outdoor shed. My family have "mentioned" the noise all morning, just in case I was "unaware."

3. I am a bit jealous of authors who are able to weave such an intricate and beautiful story like a pair of little of ladies at a spinning wheel. Before reading N.Taylor and A.Payne, I would never have read anything in this genre. It just never appealed to me. But from the first time I met my second imaginary husband Jean-Luc and the lovely Krystine, I was smitten. The writing is fluid and so vivid, the imagery gives a massive sense of time and place and the story line itself is not a well worn overdone plot. It's fresh and exciting. Each character should be in the story, nothing is overdone or wasteful. Perfection.

Oh maybe I should talk more about the story line?? Nope. You must trust me and dive in face first. You will not be disappointed. Immerse yourself in each and every emotion and visualize each and every character. I just hope you put the cat out first.
5 big fat stars!

HASH(0xb2ca7f54) out of 5 stars Loved It! Feb. 10 2015

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for sharing my fair and honest opinion*

After having already fallen in love with the world of the Spellbound Consortium series of books after reading The Regent's Gamble, I was so excited to see where Jean-Luc and Krys's story would take me. I don't know how it's even possible, but I loved it even more.

The characters were just so fun, unique, and awesome to read about that the pages just seemed to disappear before my eyes and before you know it I was closing the book(well, on my Kindle, but you know). Just like in The Regent's Gamble you can't tell where one author's words end and the other's begin - they are that much in sync. It seems to me that with each passing book these authors just get better and better and I can't wait to see what comes next.

The really cool thing about The Gatekeeper's Key? It can be read as a standalone, so you can start right here! If you like a great story with an amazingly well written world, then I definitely recommend you give this a read!

Received a complimentary copy to read and review. Great book. I couldn’t put it down. Love the characters and world that was created. It has some great twists and turns. Readers are drawn into the story from the first page. This is one to add to your TBR lists. Look forward to reading more books by the authors.

An excellent continuation of the series! I really like this world, and the magical characters in it. It continues the storyline of the first two books while also giving us Jean-Luc and Krystine's story. I can't wait for their story to be finished in the next book!
