3.0 out of 5 stars NOT FOR SWIMMING Aug. 5 2014

This deice is definitely waterproof. I've tested it with sweat, rain, the shower, the hot tub, and the pool, and there were no issues with it working while wet. However, as soon as the back part is completely submerged in water, it loses the signal. It will reacquire the bluetooth signal almost immediately once it is partially out of the water. I believe it is just not possible to get a bluetooth signal underwater.

Although my Android device will pause if the signal is lost for too long, it can be restarted by pressing the play button on the headset. I tried several different swimming strokes and all of them resulted in at least constant cutting in and out, even if I modified my technique to keep my head up higher. I found the waterproof earbuds comfortable, even while working out, and while they could double as swimming earbuds, I found the dag on the wires while swimming laps tended to pull them out of my ears.

So, they're great for just hanging out in the pool or the hot tube, or for sweaty workouts, rain, and in the shower, but they're useless for swimming.
