I found that GoW 2 was rather buggy at times. The NPC may not always come to help you in the right spots, and I was stuck in a few instances where the enemy doesn't show up to advance the level. Sometimes weapons would disappear when dropped or would fall into a spot that prevents you from picking it up.
The controls felt cumbersome, like Marcus weighed 800 lb and reacted slowly to your inputs. The running was frustrating because Marcus would immediately sprint in a direction that may not coincide with where you're facing, and he isn't very maneuverable in this mode.
GoW2 had a great storyline, stunning visuals, excellent audio, and decent controls - it certainly was easy to pick up and play. Nothing was too gory or scary, although the language may not be suitable for minors. The one thing that really got to me was Maria. She resembled a woman that was fighting a losing battle against the last stages of cancer, probably one of the scariest and darkest things to endure and observe.
Overall: 4/5 stars, they need to make the game a bit more stable and fix up some of the bugs.
The maps are provided via DLC, so you won't be able to "pass" the maps to your friend to borrow. Your friends will also have to have the extra maps in order to play together, which is a common sense.
I love the running and shooting part of the game, but the flying and driving part of the game was very frustrating and annoying. Me and a friend finished the whole campaign together the hardest difficulty, and we got stuck on a few parts of the game for hours.
I recommend playing the game on normal or easy if you just want to enjoy the storyline.
The graphic is very good. If you played the first Gears, you need to play this one.
Since I decided to skip the regular version, I bought the "Game of the Year" edition instead and let me tell you it's more than the original. You get not only new maps for multiplayer, but also a hidden chapter that was cut from the original release( for reasons unknown) as well as a free Gold membership. That and the Horde mode is a blast. I played with it a few times and it's addictive as hell and you can play it online too; another added bonus to an already stellar package. If you liked the first game than you'll LOVE GoW2. One of the best action games on the Xbox 360.
