I have a circuit on a 50Amp breaker terminating in a NEMA 14-50 plug. I used this cord to connect my new Tesla Gen2 charger. For that device, I had to cut off the end connectors - that was easy. I also put a barrett on the white wire to terminate it, neutral is not used. This cord is rated for 50A, which means it works for my charger set to 40A continuous charging. As other reviews mention, the red and black (240V) are 6Ga and the (green) ground and (white) neutral are slightly thinner at 8Ga I have a high-end socket, Hubell 9450, and this cable plugged in perfectly. As can be expected, wire this thick is stiff; but it is made with stranded copper so bends a lot easier than solid 6Ga wire. It also comes with a wire clamp that went inside the unit and supports the wire so there is no strain pulling on the terminal block screw-downs. I should also mention the cable itself is about 3/4" across, so very easily threads through a 1-1/4" strain relief conduit fitting.
While charging at 40A for 20 minutes there was no noticeable temperature increase on the cable or the plug.
