4 stars for sound mix (not as good as usual)
3 stars for the dvd media, the song "I Know What I Like" freeze during the playback on dvd. This is a double layers dvd and the change between the layers is probably in this song.
But it's a must for the fans of the old Genesis and Nad Sylvan is giving a strong performance. Steve is excellent.
Just forget the song "I Know What I Like" and buy it !
Ok. A long time fan, like a good chunk of people prefer the older form of the band, this could almost be considered a greatest hits.
The lead singer, Nad Sylan, was probably taken for his voice that reminds me of Peter Gabriel's voice from that era [and a bit of Phil Collins]. You can tell how Tony Banks is as a keyboardist when this band needs two keyboardists to do what Banks did on his own.
Interesting to note that drummer Gary O'Toole shares in the vocals [aside from the guest vocalists which include Nick Kershaw and John Wetton].
Marillion's Steve Rothery is another one of the guests on the DVD.
As for production, the sound is quite good but not incredible. I have seen better camera work. Too much camera views from the back of the Hammersmith.
What I also didn't care for is that they crammed the concert of almost 162 minutes on one DVD and a "Behind the Scenes" documentary [at under 38 minutes]. The DVD concert suffers a bit in video quality. Would of preferred to stop the concert at the intermission before the first encore [at least] and continue on the second DVD.
The band is still on tour in 2014 and I will be sure to catch the show in my area!
