Product Description

Review

"Claire's tough-girl attitude may remind adult readers of Rachel Morgan and her world of human-vampire interactions." ---Booklist --This text refers to the MP3 CD edition.

About the Author

Rachel Caine is the author of more than twenty novels, including the "Weather Warden" series. She was born at White Sands Missile Range, which people who know her say explains a lot. She has been an accountant, a professional musician, and an insurance investigator, and still carries on a secret identity in the corporate world. She and her husband, fantasy artist R. Cat Conrad, live in Texas with their iguanas, Popeye and Darwin; a mali uromastyx named (appropriately) O’Malley; and a leopard tortoise named Shelley (for the poet, of course).

Morganville isn't the same since Ada and the computer system failed. Claire and Myrnin have been trying to fix the problem. But Claire gets herself into trouble.

Eve attends a party in an abandoned warehouse and she's in danger. Claire, Shane, and Michael run to her rescue. A fight ensues between the vampires and the locals, and Claire ends up killing a vampire. According to town law, the punishment for killing a vampire is death.

Amelie gives her a choice: settle the town's problem or hang in a cage in the town square. Claire chooses to fix the problem. She can't rest until it's solved - she completes the device.

However, in the days to follow, she realizes that something is drastically wrong when people begin losing chunks of their memory. The town becomes deadly once again - even in the daytime. Claire doesn't know what she can do, but she realizes it's up to her to fix the machine before it's too late.

GHOST TOWN delivers another amazing installment of this dangerous, action-packed series about loyalty, friendship, and love.

This books is good in the sense that it is entertaining(ish)- sucking you into it and distracting you from the real world for a bit, but aside from that... Seriously? This book essentially has the EXACT SAME story line as the previous 8 books in the series (it appears to be suffering from the 'second book' syndrome except for the fact that it is the 9th book in the series- it does little to move the story line forward in any way shape or form, the story line just feels like it is 'filler')- Myrnin quite literally loosing his mind, Amelia being scary, Claire being naive, Oliver being an a-hole, and the vamps and humans being CONSTANTLY at each other's throats. Is it too much to ask to see a totally different, unique, and SHINY story line and a different side of the characters?
