Everything worked as expected right away, just to had to set up the ram speed to 1600.
The Gtx 780 does extend out a bit from the board, but as long as it fits your case it should be ok.
No need for a more expensive MOBO, I use this for CAD, 3DS Max renderings, image editing, and hardcore gaming. Been playing hitman absolution at Ultra settings, for a couple of hours and runs great.
No issues whatsoever.
USB 3.0 has not been stable. When I run the usb's in xHCI mode, they kick off my hard drives from time to time and wont remount them without a restart.
Not sure if this is a motherboard issue or a Mac OSX issue, because I had a similar issue with my mac mini when it was connected to a USB 3 device.
Also running using the CPU to run graphics would SOMETIMES cause the screen to become complete static and the whole computer would freeze. Not sure if thats a motherboard issue or my CPU.
Using internal storage and a GPU completely fixed those issues and now i'm COMPLETELY happy. Could be happier with the purchase. Computer is running great!
Gave 4 stars instead of less because IM not sure if the problem really is the mobo or not. But I'm sure the mobo must be playing at least some small role in incompatibility with parts is should be completely compatible.
***FYI I'm using up to date bios and software on all counts***
But if you're building SLI/Crossfire setups and you're considering this board, you don't know what you're doing anyways. =)
I don't know if this is normal quality standard for Gigabyte, but if you buy from them you should DEFINITELY hang on to the box, and warranty information. I reached out to Gigabyte for help and they suggested I buy a new one from eBay...
