Amazon.ca Product Description
Windows eat up energy. Gila Window Films (aka window tints) can help reduce energy loss and lower cooling costs by up to 50 percent. In addition to providing energy savings, window films and tints block annoying glare and reject UV to reduce fading and help protect interior furnishings. EZ Mount adhesive technology allows for easy window film installation and long lasting performance. Or for an easy on/easy off solution, try our Peel & Cling static cling application. Either way, you enjoy the savings year after year.

Would recommend picking up a few other things to make the install process easier:
A razor blade paint scraper ( for getting your windows super clean before installing), an Exacto knife( for tight corners), a squeegee (to help smooth on the film) and some scotch tape (to help peel off the backing from the film).
Also, having someone to help you is a huge bonus and the film can be difficult to handle in tight spots and up ladders by yourself.
Great product! Helped cool my west facing top floor condo with skylights. My place would get up to 30+ celsius by later afternoon and now with the film it stays around 22-24 celsius.
Excellent product easy install with 2 people. took minutes to install on 3 windows. If you follow the instructions its a breeze. Make sure windows are 100% clean and you will have no issues. Having someone to help you makes it so much easier to peal the backing film and install. Highly recommend
I had some film left over so applied a second layer to the lower 12 inches of the sliding door to provide extra protection to the portion of the rug not shaded by the floor-length sheers. I still had film left over so applied a third layer to the lower 9 inches and spliced in an additional 4 inches to the top of the second layer extending it to 16 inches. The shade progression looks great on the window and provides extra protection to the rug by the window where it is not shaded by the sheers. Note to self: splicing over an underlying layer is not as effective as splicing only a single layer as can be seen in the photo. This is because if the knife cuts through the underlying film the cut cannot be closed because the underlying film will no longer move. A 1/4 inch strip of the left hand edge of the right window was spliced into the base layer to remove a ragged edge from cutting with a dull knife and without wetting. The splice is joined and almost invisible. The splice does not show at all in the photo. Compare to the spliced 4 inches at top of the bottom second layer. Sections of the splice where the knife went through the underlying film are visible. Overall I am very pleased with the Gila UV and IR window film.

UPDATE AFTER ONE YEAR: the south side window that I did kept the curtans looking like new. And the south side window that I did not do the sun made my curtans fade. So yeah it does its job
During the day time, you can see outside, outside can't really see in. At night, because it's brighter in the house than the outside, you can only see your reflection from the inside. From the outside, it's harder to look in, but not impossible
