I'm not sure what I expected but it was more than this bit of fluff & nonsense. I can't believe the woman who brought us - "You Are What You Eat" is the same person who wrote this book. I guess I expected a "YAWYE" attitude & menu. This is like "Dear Diary, today I will change . . ." which is NOT, repeat NOT BOOTCAMP. I found this book useless & disappointing. Oh, AND a waste of money too.

I am a big fan of Gillian's and have lost quite a bit of weight using her Slim for Life Plan. I was very excited to see a new book released by her and I immediately purchased it. Unlike Slim for Life, which I use more like a cookbook than anything else, Boot Camp Diet is a a small paperback designed to be a 2-week plan. It has logs for food and exercise and not a whole lot of different or new recipes from the Slim for Life book. The BIGGEST drawback was the metric conversion. This book is not in US measurements. Being on a diet or embarking on a lifestyle change, as she calls it, is hard enough without having to get out a converter whenever you want to make a recipe. For those who are looking for a structured jump-start this is a great book. If you are like me and wanted some new great vegetarian-lite (mostly veggie but some meat) recipes, Slim for Life is a better choice.

HASH(0xa638ebdc) out of 5 stars Good information Sept. 4 2009

Great information. Great plan. It's tough going but well worth the effort. Gillian touches all the bases as far as how to look deep within yourself and find out what triggers you and what motovates you. Good tasing recipes, I'm seeing the results and getting myself going in the right direction.

This is definitely a 'get into it' type of plan, but I am a lover of Gillian's shows and knew ahead of time this book would not be about pampering. I love her 'no excuses' take on weightloss and life-style. My only mistake was getting it in Kindle edition. I like to have the book out in the kitchen when cooking, not my Kindle. But that is truly a personal thing.
