Product Description

When a perfect new love is shattered, two hearts will do anything to pick up the pieces. In this sizzling novel from the bestselling author of Stone Walls, irresistible heat leads to sensual thrills—and a secret that changes everything.

Two years ago, Nick Farley was undercover as a bartender in Chicago. The tough-as-steel FBI agent was working all the angles to build a case against a local crime syndicate, but even his intense focus was no match for the sight of Angela Cavello’s plump pink lips pulling on her drink. All Nick got was one night—the longest, hottest, sweetest night of his life. It could have been the beginning of something real. Instead, she walked away—and Nick watched her go.

Angela has made some mistakes in her life, but Nick was never one of them. Nor was the baby boy he doesn’t know about. But Angela has been running from a stalker for so long that she’s forgotten how to feel safe. So when Nick suddenly reappears in her life, Angela faces a moment of truth. She wants to trust him and reveal her secrets—her life and the life of their son may depend on it—but first she needs to know that Nick can handle her past, and promise the one thing she most craves: a future together.

**Nick! Amazing! I need to tell you how much I Love this book!! I tried to drag out the last chapter because I didn't want it to end! WOW!!
I have been dying for Nick’s book since he got my attention in Backstage (The Back-Up Series #4) and after reading Glass ceilings he now owns my attention the man is Hot Hot Hot!! Alpha Passionate HOT!
Glass Ceilings is a captivating romantic story that is filled with suspense, mystery emotion and sexiness! Nick is an FBI agent who pours his heart and soul into his Job, Angela is woman with a past that causes turmoil in her life not allowing her to move forward to better future. The love story between Nick and Angela is Hot!! There is no denying the chemistry between these two. Just wait until you read about their first kiss!! (INTENSE and Heart Melting) I am still “SIGHING!” I can go on and on about the passion that radiates from Nick and Angela, but Glass ceilings is so much more. It’s a gripping page turner.
AM Madden has a way with her writing that you as the reader feel the emotion that is coming through her characters, there was quite a few times where I wanted to reach into the book and hug Nick or I wanted to cry for Angela. But also at the same time I found myself laughing out loud with antics of Jase (Nick’s friend) and Eve (Angela’s cousin) and wanting to be their best friend as well.
Love this book! A definite MUST READ!! I was on the edge of my seat needing to know what was going to happen next!!!

This was a first time read for me by this author. I wasn't disappointed in the least! I was pulled in from the start. The writing style was so easy to follow and never did i find myself stopping to wonder what had happened or how we got to this point. The characters were very well described and i could literally picture in my mind the people and the places that they were. The story line was very well put together and flowed very nicely. The characters were all very likable even when they were driving you crazy lol. I felt their pain and their joys right along with them.

OK now on to the actual story...

Nick was playing a role...a role he had played numerous times in his career. He was used to this lifestyle...get in...blend in without drawing attention to himself...get the info needed to make the bust and find out who all the players were...then get out without any complications or loose ends. He really enjoyed his job. Never had a problem doing his job and walking away from any part he played....that was until he caught a glimpse of a serious complication...a tall brunette with green eyes that looked right into his very soul...and wanted nothing to do with him!

To say that Angela isn't looking for a man would be an understatement! All she wants is to get out of Chicago as fast as possible..she has a deadline to do that...a week. When she looks into the eyes of the bartender at the dive bar suitably named "the dump" she knows that hes the last person that she needs to be getting tangled up with...she has a week and everything in him is screaming "Forever" to her. One night...just one night and everything changes...one new years kiss...she cant help herself...she allows herself one night with Nick....one night changed both of their lives forever!

HASH(0xa5a585dc) out of 5 stars Glass Ceilings is a wonderful mixture of heat May 24 2016

Glass Ceilings is a wonderful mixture of heat, angst, action, surprise, and love. Nick Farley is one hot man and AM Madden gives the reader no choice but to fall head over heels in love with him. Angela Cavello is a strong heroine, with a soft side and a big heart, and she's the perfect complement to Nick. This story takes you on a journey of ups and downs, thrills and chills, and suspense and drama. Prepare for the ride - you will love it! Regardless of what all those other women say, #NickIsMine. :)

HASH(0xa5a58828) out of 5 stars Not for me....review contains spoilers if you read far enough May 24 2016

Received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

2.5

So the publisher emailed me about this book after I had requested and been approved for another book (which I loved) and although Romantic Suspense is not usually my genre, I knew of the author (I actually own another book by her but haven't read it yet) and I do so love the secret baby trope. This book wasn't even close to what I had expected based on the synopsis. I thought with a stalker and a cop there would be suspense, fear, angst....I thought with the secret baby there would be even more angst, anger, forgiveness and some character growth. Sadly I wasn't getting any of that. I started wondering if maybe I was suffering book hangover from the book I had just read and loved, maybe I needed to take a break before trying to finish this one. Out of curiosity I started another book I had lined up just to see if I was at the point where every book was just going to fall flat...I tore through that novella in an afternoon with no issues...and with a heavy heart I came back to Glass Ceilings. In the end, the only aspect of the book I truly enjoyed was baby Nicholas. He alone took the book from a two star read to a 2.5. Not only was he adorable, the only time I really liked Nick or Angela was when they interacted with him. Based on the fact that I am the first one reviewing who did not love and rave about this book, I think we can safely say her writing style does not work for me. That's ok, this is not the first book by a well loved author that I didn't groove with. To those people who want more specifics of what didn't work for me and don't mind possible spoilers keep reading....otherwise you can stop now :)

*****SPOILERS AHEAD*******

So based on the synopsis I expected a hot one night stand that led to a baby, a run for her life from a stalker and the eventual reconnect since she's being stalked and the baby daddy was FBI....of course she'd run to him to keep her safe. So not what we got. It was a weeklong courtship and finally sexy times ensue (pretty standard contemporary sex). Then we get a few months of skype and phone calls and plans to meet in New York. Meanwhile the evil ex/stalker has returned to Chicago and makes vague statements about her uncle's car crash might not have been an accident, and photos of Nick's tires slashed in New York. Really? A mob guy slashing tires? *sigh* So since after months of contact Angela still hasn't found out that Nick's law enforcement career is actually FBI, she decides to play the martyr to keep Nick and his unknown child safe, dumps Nick, runs off to Ohio and leaves taking down the psycho mobbed up stalker to her accountant cousin.
Here comes the two year time jump before Angela is pulled into the FBI for questioning and who walks in but Nick. Then we get lots and lots of time jumps while Angela tells Nick her story of what happened. I hate constant time jumps, but what I hate even more is being told a story and not "living" the story. I was so disconnected from what she went through that I felt none of her fear or worry or even her professed love for Nick. Insta-love rarely works for me and although years go by in this book it really is an insta-love storyline since obviously they fell in "love" back in Chicago. While Angela stayed true to her love for Nick during the two years, Nick had spent it banging his way through New York until he hooked up with his semi-regular booty call Stacie. I don't mind a manwhore who is reformed by love but something about a guy who tries to "bang" the pain away is a real pet peeve of mine. If he loved her that much he should have got his butt on a plane back to Chicago 2 years ago. But regardless, his love for her has him dumping Stacie and forgiving her in a matter of days. DAYS???? I don't think so. It all became to much too fast and for me completely unbelievable. Thankfully by this time we were almost at the end of the book and the "suspense" part was wrapped up neatly despite the fact in most ways it had nothing to do with our main characters. The only other character besides baby Nicholas that intrigued me was Angela's brother David, but let's be honest, intrigued or not, odds are I won't be picking up a book for him if she decides to write one. For me, Angela came off weak, weepy and far too needy and Nick was far too bland and kind of a douche. Oh well, on to the next book.

HASH(0xa5a58a68) out of 5 stars To serve, protect and love ❤️ May 24 2016

We met Nick Farley before, he was a character in Backstage, Stone Walls and his own novella. He seems like a centered guy, who is career oriented, with no time for love or relationships in his life. But while participating on an undercover operation in Chicago he meets Angela Cavello, sparks flight and they have a memorable wild night. Unfortunately, life gets in the way and all the plans that Nick and Angela had made came crumbling down.
Nick moves back to NYC to take over a new position with the FBI and Angela goes in hiding to protect herself and those she loves. But life has a funny way of bringing people back together, no matter how much time has passed, no matter the circumstances of the separation, sometimes a little secret has the power to show people the way back to one another.
I really liked Angela, although at the beginning I couldn't understand why she acted the way she did, you can clearly see that she has a heart of gold and truly loved Nick. Nick is a complex character, he's very serious about his career but he's also very protective of his people, his attitude towards Angela when they see each other again is not the best but I completely understood where he was coming from. I loved, loved, loved how he changed when certain things were revealed to him, tenderness was palpable and that is always a wonderful thing to see, specially on such a strong male character. We also get to see how Mr. Stone and his lovely wife are doing, I really enjoyed that since Ben is one of my favorite A.M. characters.
This is a story full of secrets, betrayal, forgiveness and a whole lot of love. It's always very rewarding when you see an author's writing get better with every book she publishes, and this is the case with Mrs. Madden. I hope you all enjoy Glass Ceilings as much as I did.
P.S. And be prepared because there is a scorching little scene that you won't want to miss ;-)

HASH(0xa5a58ce4) out of 5 stars Race to Read it I did May 24 2016
By Denise Van plew - Published on Amazon.com

This author really needs to have warning labels on her books sometimes especially when we have things like work that interfere with reading. Since I did read the first one just had to read this one also . She also knows how to pick the titles to go with her books. This had alot of the ingredients to feed my addiction I crave alot in novels. Great characters like Nick and Angela for starters, who had a great support system like her cousin who does get a great guy also. When they first meet in is in all innocence on some levels but then there were the levels of secrecy that only bits leaked out at first. Thanks to danger and then time separation happened longer than was imagined but that same danger will reconnect them again. That is the other element the danger and suspense that drives everyone in this one alot. As they rebuild out of the ashes of the past in the now you are stuck like glue not going anywhere ready to hurt somebody if it gets messed up. You have to read it for yourself to see why though I feel that why and it is not just because I want them together cause I do but other reasons too. She does a excellent job though of reeling the suspense along through it all plus that question of her brother will be woven in and out. The heat factor is off the charts so make sure your smoke detectors are working if at home. All the ingredients that us readers chase in our books that pump our adrenaline and feed our fantasies at time. She does give me great satisfaction with her wrap up putting me in that book oblivion that only fine writing can do.

HASH(0xa5a58fd8) out of 5 stars I loved this story! May 24 2016

This is an awesome book! You get both stories...the Novella where we first met Angela AND the full story that shows what happens next with Nick and Angela. THIS IS A MUST READ!!!

I met Nick, the FBI agent in a previous story, Stone Walls, and I really liked his character. He was such a good guy. The honest agent. I really felt that he had a soft spot for the love that Ben and Ella had in that story and I really wanted to know more about him. When I found out that AM Madden was writing a novella about him, I jumped on it. It was such a great, fun story. Nick was undercover and he was totally out of his element. While undercover he meets the sweet and mysterious Angela. She had a backstory that I was DYING for and in Glass Ceilings, holy cow...did I get what I was looking for.
Glass Ceilings wasn't just a love story, it was suspenseful and mysterious and I fell in love with the characters all over again. Who is Angela running from and why? Will she trust Nick to keep her safe? This book shocked me and frustrated me, it really had me thinking. There were times I wanted to just jump to the end and I am glad that I didn't because I felt like I was along for the ride with Nick and Angela and I loved every minute of it.
