"Glycerine is a thoughtful book that leads the reader through a very familiar Calgary, both urban and suburban. It's an enjoyable, quick read."

The only fault I can find with this book is that it took so long for Garry to write it and get it published.
I hope there are many, many more "Detective Lane" mysteries and somehow I can get to read them a whole lot sooner. Can hardly wait to see what happens with Arthur and Christine and Matt and the dogs and the rest of the whole marvellous Lane family! Please keep Christine off of ladders

I love the Donna and Stacie characters and was happy to see how that worked out and that they weren’t the terrorists that Lane and others originally thought they were. As usual, the Lane family dynamics were fun and funny. Shows that even a gay “family” can be normal. I find the family to be functionally dysfunctional. Reminds me of Katherine Hepburn’s line in the “Lion in Winter” when the king and princes are fighting over the throne, she says, “Oh well, every family has its ups and downs.”
I found the last few chapters fast paced and exhilarating. Great novel. Fun read.
write faster than I can read.
