Was an interesting read up until this ex-cop decides he'll take responsibility for someone in mortal danger rather than refer the person to a known and reputable local police force.
That's just stupid.
I could not get past that and quit reading.

A retired sheriff decides to settle down in a secluded area and fish --- meets a few good people and then one day a dog shows up at his door. From there a mystery starts ,dead woman ,missing women ,thugs ,corrupt sheriffs and FBI ,leads to a new life fro this retired sheriff and his friends . I liked it enough to give it my 15 star instead of my 5 star. It's a good read and I hope to read more from this author.
