HASH(0xa1443f6c) out of 5 stars I couldn't put it down and can't wait for the third book in the series to come out! March 1 2015

This is the second book in the series. It continues a short time after the first book. It is a continuation of Charlie and Marian's story.

I found all the new characters to be introduced in a way that you never felt overwhelmed even though there were a lot of new characters.

The large family of Charlie is a great addition to this story. I love the feeling of closeness and how the family will do anything for each other.

The way that the characters show their flaws and you still want them to succeed and be happy is a sign of how in depth the author gets with them.

I couldn't put it down and can't wait for the third book in this series to come out!
HASH(0xa14471d4) out of 5 stars Read as a stand-alone Feb. 1 2015

I read this book as a stand alone though it is the second book in a series. It was wonderfully easy to pick up and read as such though I was introduced to do many characters in the beginning that it was a bit confusing. The McClung clan is one you fall in love with quickly and anyone would be lucky to be a part of. The plot of this book is very well researched and beautifully and intricately woven in a way that is sure to leave the reader scratching there head, though the minute details and clues allowed me to have figured out who the murderer was about halfway through the novel. This book was one that grabbed would of me and had me hooked very quickly and one I was willing to read through the start of a migraine. It had me hooked from the beginning! The only thing I was not completely pleased with was the fact that once the murder was solved the author seemed in a hurry to conclude the story, and in saying that I feel she should have given the reader the chance to experience the major life event at the end that we anticipate along with Marian and Charlie. Had that been done this would easily be a 5 star read!

After I read Brilliant Disguise, I couldn't wait to devour this 2nd book in the series. I absolutely enjoyed reading about the McClung family. Anyone would fall in love with this great family. I especially loved Ma. She took an immediate liking to Marian. Such a close knit and loving family any family would be honored to be a part of. This book continues shortly after the first book. I loved the great depth Maryanne took describing the characters. I felt like I was part of the clan. This book is well-written and beautifully executed. It had the perfect amount of suspense, mystery, murder and romance. Once again, this was a real page-turner. I guessed who murdered the "good girl", but why was confusing me. A didn't see that twist at the end. I truly cannot wait for the 3rd book in this series. April better get here quickly. I highly recommend Charlie McClung Mysteries. There are an enjoyable clean, cozy read. If you're a mystery buff like myself, you will thoroughly enjoy the series!
HASH(0xa1447690) out of 5 stars Wonderful stand alone book in a series Aug. 16 2015
By Christopher D. Roland - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
A Good Girl is the second book in The Charlie McClung Mysteries series, this book continues the story of Charlie and Marian's relationship.

In this story Charlie brings Mariam home to meet his Irish family in the small city of Mercy. When he arrives, he discovers that a dead body was found at his family's Antique Shop. Charlie's brother-in-law Luke asks Charlie to help him with the investigation since he never had to do a murder investigation. They both investigates to figure out who is the killer of Darla Jean Rogers a 22 year old college graduate who was going into the sisterhood. But through the investigation Charlie and Luke find many secrets and it turns out everyone could be a likely suspect. Mary Anne does a wonderful job making you think you know who did it and then out from nowhere a twist. I love reading the story. It book my crack. I could not put it down. I wanted to keep reading to learn more and to figure out who did it. I highly recommend people to read this wonderful book.
HASH(0xa1447984) out of 5 stars Edwards continues her series with both excellent writing and excellent characters Feb. 28 2016

This was the second signed book I received from the author as a prize from a giveaway. After reading the first book in the series, I was anxious to see where the second book would lead me. I think I enjoyed this mystery even more than the first. It was nice that it was one of those stories where I could make my own conclusions about the mystery and who committed the murder. After reading to the last page, I was happy to find out that I was right about who I suspected! It was also nice to see a change in setting and characters from the first book. Readers are introduced to the whole McClung family in their hometown throughout the preparations for Marian and Charlie's wedding, which serves as a nice second storyline to complement the mystery plot. Edwards continues her series with both excellent writing and excellent characters. I will definitely be moving on to the third book!
