About the Author
Jolie Mae Miller is an independent author living in Prince George, Virginia, with her loving husband and amazing children along with a yorkie named Bella, a poodle named Trixie and a St. Bernard named Beatrice. Her favorite job is being a Mom and Meme (because she says she's too young to be a "GRANDMA!"). She grew up in Powhatan, Virginia, working in her family's business for many years. After her sister received a life-saving transplant, she pursued and was hired by Richmond-based, non- profit, United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). She enjoyed thirteen years working in the Accounting department managing various functions. Today, she has the best job, Mom. When she's not writing, she can oftentimes be found on the baseball field whether it's watching her youngest son play or watching her husband umpire. All of her children have played, much to her delight. For fun, she enjoys reading as often as possible. Her sporting interests include Baltimore Orioles, Dallas Cowboys, Nascar, and she supports Old Dominion University athletics. Additionally, she is an ancestry junkie! Jolie Mae is incredibly blessed to have a supportive family behind her while she pursues her love and passion of evocative writing. She credits her amazing parents for continuing to be positive, guiding forces in her life . Her love of reading definitely came from her Mom and is constantly inspired by her Dad's outgoing personality and knack for great storytelling.

It took awhile for me to figure out what was going on. The chapters change from one character's perspective to another and I spent most of the time wondering how Lizzie was connected to Jack and Vickie. Once I was at the halfway point, things started to click and I felt more invested in the characters. The second half of the book seemed to flow in a less awkward way and the story seemed to pickup. The first ten chapters seemed to drag out longer than what seemed necessary. Or perhaps connecting to the characters sooner would not have made it feel so drawn out.
I was caught off guard by the ending of the book. Just to show that my perspective of the book turned around from how I first felt, I'm reading the second one. I think I have an idea of where this is going, but since the first book had a twist at the end, I'm keeping an open mind.
First you have Jeremy and Lizzie Macintyre who are having trouble in their marriage because he has lost his job and has become an alcoholic. Then you have Jack Loving, Jr who is married to Victoria Winfield. Victoria married Jack because her parents needed his money.
But when both Lizzie and Jack discover that their respective spouses have wronged them, things start to heat up. However, when the two of them meet a new kind of spark starts flying.
I can’t wait to read the next book.
