Sequel to RHEM RHEM2 and RHEM3... enjoy mind-bending puzzlesProduct InformationThe Story... Since you were last here I have discovered an entrance to yet another new part of RHEM. According to records I've found there is a hidden transportation system that leads to a second connection to the outside world. In order to activate this system and also to enable your own return you must find all nine fragments of the key to the system... A few days ago I arrived in this part of Rhem. I will set up a studio for myself here. I have not been able to find the star key but it appears I first have to look for nine fragments. Near the railway line I found a box to collect the fragments in. Some entrances to some of the buildings could be opened but at the moment I can't make any further progress... In a straw-roofed hut there is a fireplace where some missing parts can be joined together. I'll lock the hut again but will leave behind clues about how to open the door... An unexpected success! By chance I discovered the key to a cave system where there is yet another gate with a star lock. Unfortunately I can't open the gate.Rhem 4: The Golden Fragments sets you into a huge fantastic world full of strange vehicles and buildings unknown mechanisms and machines secret passages and doorways. RHEM series is a project from one developer, his name is Knut Müller and don't let a one man team have you thinking this game will be mediocre. Its far from it, its along the lines of being brilliant to make a game, let alone a series of games by yourself, and sell them very well because they are greatly enjoyed. As the previous reviewer has suggested, you WILL need some sort of way to graph a map of the game, as well as hints/notes to the puzzles. This is a serious mind bender with puzzles and if you are like me, I won't use cheat guides in adventure games. You will be stuck unless you take notes and draw a map or resort to cheating (if you do go this route, do use UHS Reader as it doesn't tell you the exact solution right away, but little hints instead). Of course this takes me so much longer to finish a game, sometimes not finishing it at all yet, but its much more enjoyed that way. Thats at least how I feel. The accomplishment of a puzzle with the magnitude of this game is so rewarding when you see the ending.
For the game to run, expecially for XP/Vista/Win7, RHEM 4 will run flawlessly but as I have suggested to try RHEM, make sure you have Quicktime installed. Any adventure game fan should have these in their collection.
PS. I still plan to buy a copy to add to my collection.
I am not sure if the UK company is just trying to get rid of its faulty DVDs and so Canadian customers are easily deceived as the cost of shipping back to them is prohibitive compared to what you pay for it.

early MYST games. [Maybe in Rhem 5? Please consider a villain and a chase and the solving of crises.] Until then,
we have a marvelous logic narrative of bridges, colors, engines, patterns. Thank you! [oh...I had to use a walkthrough
a few times.]
She took to it right away. The puzzles are challenging, to say the least. They test your logical thinking and problem solving. The graphics are pretty good, and the sound effects are appropriate and really not too overbearing. She has probably had over 100 computer puzzle type games over the past 20 years or so. She said this was certainly one of the ten best. It is a big game with lots to explore and some tricky twists and turns, but isn't that the whole point?
