Ten years ago…
A month and a half ago, I made a choice.
A choice that nearly cost me everything:
my friends, my family, my life.
Who knew that choice would nearly cost me my future?

A month and a half ago, I made a choice.
I chose to turn my hell into someone else’s.
I nearly ruined someone’s life because I couldn’t handle my own.
Who knew that choice would threaten my future?

Ten Years Later…
Grayson Michaels made that fateful decision as a teenager, he’s determined to not let the past define him. Control him. Bind him. Vulnerability is not an option. When his demons surface in the form of Finn Abbott, Grayson learns that everything isn’t as it seems.

Finn Abbott is trying to put his life back together. Divorce, house arrest, and a slew of lovers have only caused his life to spiral out of control. But a job offer comes along and everything seems to be back on track. That is until the ghost of a scorned boy returns in the form of a vengeful man.

Fate is a fickle friend. Questions need answered and debts need repaid. What happens when past and present collide? Can two people destined to be enemies find love instead? As they say, there’s a fine line between love and hate.

About the Author

Morgan lives in the south of Texas, typically dividing her time between Houston and Austin, with her husband. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found with her nose stuck in a book, cooking, baking, crocheting, and causing a general ruckus with her friends and family! Filled with an overactive imagination at a young age, she began writing her thoughts down in a journal, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This was a heartbreaking story of Grayson's traumatizing sophomore year at the hands of Finn and his horrible "friends." Most relatable to me, is that Grayson surely suffered from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) as I do and his thinking and feelings were very accurate. Also, a family member of mine had a bad episode of cutting this past summer and now I understand where he was coming from. Thank you, Morgan!

I enjoyed reading about the men at 26 and we were given explanations for Finn's actions at 16. At least there was a positive outcome to the story. I'm looking forward to reading Finn's story next!

The story is not bad but the writting is just awful so many errors it's frustrating and I had a hard time just finishing it. I'm french but bilingual and can see all these errors imagine that! Writers that can't write is very annoying and thank god I read it for free because I would want a refund.

4.0 out of 5 stars A look into bullying and the repercussions March 8 2017

I usually try to stay away from frenemies stories since I feel characters don’t show enough remorse. That being said I really enjoyed this story.
The book is told in two parts, the past and present, with ten years between. Readers start off with the bare bones of Grayson making a major decision about the direction of his life and acting on it. The first part was hard to read because of the subject matter, the bullying and how far it went and Grayson’s mental state really hit home. It packed a punch and boy did my sinuses burn from holding back the tears. I can’t say I particularly hated Finn or liked him. I don’t blame him for all that Grayson went through but I do blame him for being the catalysis that broke the camels back. Bullying is never a really easy subject to tackle well and I feel the author did a great job.

That being said what readers do know about Finn’s situation didn’t really excuse him for how Grayson’s life kind of snowballed out of control. In the second part of the book I was a little resentful that he felt he was getting his life on track after destroying his marriage and everything was coming up rosebuds. I really anticipated the cliché meeting between him and Grayson but when it did happen it was a bit anti-climactic for me. Moving pass that I feel Finn was remorseful enough and I liked how it turned out. I would have liked some groveling but that’s my preference as a reader.

Gray’s emotional state when Hudson chased Finn off was a bit disconcerting considering the reunion between Finn and himself didn’t seem particularly long. I know that attraction and chemistry was simmering under there all along but I felt it may have been a bit rushed. I’m looking forward to giving Finn’s book a read to see his side of the story and how everything is progressing between him and Grayson.

I did find some minor errors but I was reading a review copy so it is possible those issues were addressed before the final print. I will add in toward the latter half of the book I got a bit more confused with which POV I was reading from. Grayson and Finn’s voices were kind of meshing. Also the execution style of writing was a bit detached making it hard to really get invested in either characters.
5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional April 23 2017

This is a highly emotional book. I was grabbed into the story right from the start and it didn’t let go. The story begins with the lives of Grayson and Finn in their high school years. One innocent action by Grayson triggers an avalance of reactions. Trapped between a rock and a hard place Finn lashes out to safe his own skin. The author paints a terrifying picture how high school dynamics and social media can affect people’s reactions. How the role of parents and friends can influence one’s decisions. It was very hard to read and my heart went out to both boys.
Fastforward ten years. Grayson has built a successful company, but that success came with the prize of his personal happiness and own true self. Finn has had his fair amount of difficulties and is finally on the way back up. Their first meeting is explosive, but slowly but steady they get to know each other as they really are. As they are rehashing the past all the pain and anguish surface again.
I liked it that the author showed us two sides of the coin. She didn’t portray Finn as the bad guy, who should solely take the blame. That he had no idea who much impact his actions had and that he was genuinely remorseful. Grayson has always seen beneath the surface who Finn really was. He takes a close look into himself as well and shows strength of character to forgive Finn for what he did. It is clear that both men are victims of their past.
There is a fine line between love and hate. The author hits the right note in showing that you can love your enemy. It felt genuine and real. I kept rooting for this guys to find their happily ever after. And they did. Big time. The ending was perfect.

This was an interesting read on a thought-provoking couple of subjects. With some sexy times thrown in for good measure. I never went through the bullying in school, so I don't know how it would affect a person, personally. The way that the cutting is described is accurate, though sped up dramatically. And there's a different psychology from cutting cutting to suicide, but maybe that part came from the bullying? I wasn't able to grasp much besides a general whining. Not that bullying isn't terrible and doesn't happen. Or doesn't have an impact. It just didn't resonate emotionally here. There was still an emotional distance. Maybe because it was told from the perspective of a past narrative?
I did like the newer, romance, part better, but there was still emotional distance. It's like there's plexiglass between the reader and the characters. Overall, a good read.
4.0 out of 5 stars Luckily, HS is only four years. March 4 2017

Some of us get good parents, some not. We are either accepted or not. Grayson had a loving parent, family and friends who cared for him always regardless of being gay and different. Finn needed that acceptance but never got it from anyone. He tortures Gray throughout HS until Gray moves away. When they meet ten years later, Gray has the upper hand and proceeds to treat Finn as he was treated. Luckily, the ten years have been used constructively by both parties. Once they really talk to each other and listen, they realize they truly love each other. I'm glad these two got together after all the crap. Everyone stuck by Gray throughout the ensuing years but until he makes peace with the past, he can't move forward.

This was such a great read. For a person that had very low self-esteem and had people bullying me. I felt for Grayson and all the trouble he had with Finn in High School. So when Grayson doesn't let that define him later in life and becomes successful I was happy. However Finn also has a special place in my heart with all his own struggles. So to see how they get together in a romantic way was nice. I always like enemies to lovers stories and this one was a good one. Can't wait for the next one.
