No mythical animal has inspired as much legend around the world as the dragon. This book includes dragon lore from many countries as well as a structural analysis of dragon anatomy as it has evolved throughout history. There are instructions for drawing details such as scales and many line drawings of dragons in different poses for use by woodworkers, fabric artists, and illustrators. 5.0 out of 5 stars A real treat... April 7 2009
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I am still agog over the large selection of pictures supplied for an (aspiring!)artist to use; and the art how-to information! A real treat to have all the differences and varieties of Dragon explained so one can make alterations to the pictures supplied and make your own version! It will be awhile before I run out of ideas with this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest pattern book ever! June 13 2004
I am a fantasy artist and I use alot of patterns. This book is the greatest. It has an editorial section on dragons, section on basic anatomy, scale work, dragon lore and lots of other helps plus tons of great patterns. The patterns are large and well drawn. The book is large, the cover and pages are thick and good quality paper. I would strongly nudge anyone that is into crafts, hobbies, art to buy this book. It is well worth the mony+. I also give her other book "Great Book of Fairy Patterns" the same rave. Do youself a favor and buy her books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great drawing resource Oct. 7 2009
If you're a crafty dragon fan (and really, who isn't?) this book is a great resource. With dragons of all kinds (scaled and feathered) and in all kinds of poses, plus tips on shading and coloring, you can make the dragon of your dreams. I used it to create a faux stained glass window, my daughter uses it as inspiration to draw her own pencil creations. Frankly, we haven't really even gone over the text yet!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dragons galore April 3 2010
This book is exactly what was hoping for. Since I am a carver, I was looking for more than just a picture book and this one fills the bill. From dragon history to glossy photos, skeletal drawings and tons of patterns full page.
