HASH(0xb2da103c) out of 5 stars Green Wedding is very down-to-earth Aug. 26 2009
By clay artist - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I just read "Green Wedding" to get ideas for a friend's ceremony and I loved the book. To make her points, Navarro tells the stories of several actual weddings for which the participants and planners tried to make environmentally responsible decisions, and her narratives are very down-to-earth and believable. Navarro provides dozens of photographs of these individuals and ceremonies, making her stories that much more compelling and authentic. The book is beautifully written, as you would expect from a New York Times reporter. Without being didactic, Navarro makes the case not just for green weddings, but for adopting eco-friendly lifestyles in general.

HASH(0xb2da1090) out of 5 stars Thoughtful, beautiful resource Aug. 15 2009
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This book is cleverly written, yet down to earth at the same time. It is full of ideas that are practical, original and actionable, with suggestions of ways to green your wedding - or really any event - in ways that are both large and small. It gave me ideas that I now even apply to my family BBQs here at home. I found in a very entertaining read...at times a little tongue-in-cheek which made it even more of a pleasure. The layout and photography are sleek, modern and stunning; this is a beautiful book. A wonderful resource!

HASH(0xb2da14c8) out of 5 stars Great book with wonderful pictures! Aug. 8 2010
By Sara Tryzelaar - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
I bought four "eco" and "green" wedding books to help plan my wedding and this was the best one! It has great pictures and goes into a bit more detail and covers more things than the other books that I purchased. The other books had just the basics like location, number of guests, invitations, etc....but this book went into detail on each of those things, giving unique ideas and wonderful pictures! Would definitely recommend to others!

HASH(0xb2da14b0) out of 5 stars The Best Book on The Green Weddings Yet Aug. 17 2009
By Gabriel Reyes - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This is the best book on Green Weddings yet. We the readers are lucky that Ms. Navarro is a very well respected journalist for The New York Times. Her descriptions, her prose are all very concise, direct and to the point. Chock full of "reporting", always providing different examples and alternatives to every aspect of this very special occasion. Buy this 5-star book and have a 5-star Green Wedding!

HASH(0xb2da196c) out of 5 stars Only very basic green wedding tips... Oct. 17 2011
By Sylricka - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This book did not live up to my expectations--it gave very basic and obvious suggestions to "green" your wedding, such as:

-don't use plastic
-make your invitations on recycled paper
-only use flowers/vegetables that are in season, etc.

Bottom line, if you consider yourself to be environmentally conscious, then you'll be disappointed with this book. However, if you're new to the "green scene" then this book would be helpful.
