Product Description

Product Description

1. Don’t sleep around.

2. Don’t kiss and tell.

3. Be nice.

4. Don’t text or call.

5. Don’t fall in love.

The rules were simple...until they weren't.

I have everything I ever thought I could want: a nice home, a job I love, two beautiful girls, and my husband, Gabe - my high school sweetheart who still rocks my world. If you ask anyone to describe me they would say, "Oh, Mirella? She's such a nice girl." And that’s true...until a mysterious, peculiar man and his beautiful wife enter our lives.

Weston and Bridget Hanson are no ordinary couple—they’re stunning, enigmatic, and sexy as hell. During the course of one unexpected evening, my ordinary world is turned upside down. How could it not be when Weston and Bridget propose the unthinkable? And when the unthinkable is so very tempting, giving in becomes inevitable.

It sounds so logical and simple. Just five rules and we can all have what we desire. But the heart doesn't follow rules, and now passion, jealousy, and confusion threaten to tear everything apart.

Two beautiful couples. Five simple rules. One hot mess.

Wow! This is my first ever review so that tells you how much this story affected me. I am not a fan of romance based on infidelity but for some reason the synopsis for this book pulled me in. Maybe it was the heroin's ordinary life, which mirrored my own, or the intrigue and excitement of an open marriage. I don't know, but either way I knew The Ground Rules was going to push my comfort levels to the edge and that the story may not end the way I wanted. Surprisingly, The Ground Rules wasn't what I expected and I am so glad I took the plunge.

The Ground Rules is beautifully written and feels so real. Mirella's story kept me engaged from the very beginning to the very end ' I couldn't put it down. Although I was happy with the ending, it still felt unresolved. I wanted to learn more about Gabe, Weston and even Bridget, what drove them to this arrangement and what they were feeling. Days later I am still thinking about this story and I am anxiously looking forward to the second book in this trilogy.

** spoiler alert ** I came across this book by accident and the rating was so great that I didn't even read the description or anything before I one clicked. Perhaps if I had read the description I wouldn't have been so shocked by the storyline. But if I did that I probably wouldn't have enjoyed this book so much!

This was like a fantasy book. You never think these things happen and I definitely didn't expect the book to head in the direction it did. It was sexy and romantic and thrilling.

This book wrapped me up in almost a fantasy world, you get so wrapped up in Mirella and Weston that you forget they aren't together, that they are having an affair, with permission -as odd as that sounds. They're relationship had a bit of a Fifty Shades of Grey theme, but it was so much more intimate and relatable. Mirella has only been with one other guy and her nervousness was felt through every new experience.

I liked how Mirella continuously reminded herself that Gabe is her one true love, reminded herself of her girls and thought of her relationship with Weston as just sex, yet you could feel hidden in the words that it was so much more. I felt that this made her human, that she wasn't above anyone by basically cheating on her husband and calling it something fancy, but that she did feel just as bad about the arrangement as she felt good.

This was a great book and I'm glad I read it. However there is just something satisfying about ending the book the way it did, therefore I will not be continuing the series

Loved this book. Desperate to know what would happen next, it kept me turning the pages. The characters are relatable and interesting, it makes you want to know more about them and their motivations. Warning! You may find yourself debating whether you are 'Team Gabe' or 'Team Weston.' My only complaint is that books 2 and 3 can't come soon enough!
