Five simple rules. And it was very simple…until it wasn’t.

It could have been much worse. We weren’t thinking straight and had put everything on the line – risking our marriages. So when Weston ended the arrangement, it was for the best – for all of us. But I was still heartbroken. I thought I’d shatter into a million pieces. I didn't, I survived. Not only did I survive, I came out stronger and ready to move on with my life.

But then…

Weston reaches out to me. With a few soft words, a gentle touch and a lingering gaze, he crumbles all my efforts.

Neither Gabe nor I want to start this again, and we are determined to to fight the temptation. But Weston and Bridget are not taking no for an answer, and the pull between all of us is still so strong.

I tell myself I can handle it this time. This time, I am in the driver’s seat. This time, I am rewriting the ground rules.

I didn''t know what to expect in the second book of the 'The Rule Breakers' Trilogy but Roya Carmen did not disappoint!!

Mirella and Gabe resume the couple's exchange with Weston and Bridget but this time Mirella takes control and revises the ground rules. Mirella believes she can handle it but soon the rules are broken (again) and things spiral out of control. Emotions run deeper and everything gets more complicated.

Mirella and Weston's emotional relationship pushed my comfort levels to the limit, especially when their worlds intertwined. The sex in this book is off the charts ' Hawaii, need I say more. Hot, Hot, Hot!! But still beautiful and passionate. I love the fact that the characters are all real and flawed. They have taken up permanent residence in my head ' a testament to Roya Carmen's writing. The book ends with a huge cliff-hanger. Even though I saw it coming (and prayed I was wrong), the impact was not diminished. Waiting for the final book in the trilogy is killing me ' I'm excited and scared at the same time. I am so invested in the characters; I need to know how it ends, even if it's not the HEA I wish for.

The agreement was broken apart, but he came back. Will they accept his willingness to wanting to start things up again?

Within the first chapter in, I was on Amazon buying The Ground Rules by Roya Carmen. I was hooked, lined and sunk, and I loved it! I completely understand readers who are turned off by the fact that two perfectly happy couples decide to switch, to engage in sexual encounters with each other when there’s nothing wrong; but there comes a time when an itch settles in the pit of your stomach when you need to try something new with your significant other – not for hate or jealousy or for a thrill, simply because the bond, the trust and the love between the two of you is so strong, you know nothing can come between the two of you. I’m a first time reader of Roya Carmen, and I’m so happy that I took the time to read the blurb and lowered my head and dove right in and tried something new. Who doesn’t want a husband who is willing to try something new, who supports his wife in her endeavours, who loves his children and always takes the time to show why his wife will always be the only woman for him.

If you enjoyed book one of the series, book two only gets better and toys with your heart. It kept me up all night turning the pages. Warning - it does end on a cliffhanger. Book three and the conclusion to this amazing and highly addictive series cannot come soon enough - waiting until next year seems almost unfair. Roya Carmen and Omnific Publishing how dare you play with our minds like this! Talk about delayed gratification.😉

I absolutely loved, loved this book. I was so in love with Gabe and Weston. I can't wait for the third book. What I'd love to read is a book from Gabe's point-of-view. His story would be HOT!

There are so many things I love about this book and the series. I am so pleased that the story revolves around a married couple in their 30's. The romance genre is saturated with the New Adult category so when I find a book about slightly older characters I am happy and when I find a book about a married couple- I'm ecstatic. Roya Carmen also is a great writer that spends much time in her character development. I know these characters. I know how they look, dress, smell (in a good way), and how they feel. I was emotionally brought into the relationships with Mirella and her husband and Weston. What a tough life Mirella has. Does she have to stay with her super hot husband Gabe with his tribal tattoos and his love of her or with the equally but different hotness of Weston who is cultured and romantic. She enjoys a very active and steamy love life with both and has feeling for them both too. It's an interesting thought, can you love two different men? It seems like Mirella does and we were brought into that angst. Sometimes I was routing for Gabe and other times Weston. The book ends in a cliffhanger that promises more angst for book 3 but I can't wait.

Book 2 in The Ground Rules Trilogy picks up right where we left Mirella, the swapping arrangement with the Hansen’s has ended and she is trying to move forward, but when Weston starts reaching out to her, will she be able to resist the pull?

"This time I was making the rules. Or so I thought. We didn't learn from our mistakes we just made them all over again."

Mirella convinces herself that she can control her heart this time, she will make the rules and no one will get hurt, she knows she is playing with fire, but she cannot resist having Weston again. With Gabe's approval, the couples start back swapping. But things are more complicated this time, deep feelings and a few secrets are revealed, all while Weston and Mirella's attachment to one another grows. Throw in an interesting 'couples' vacation in Hawaii, tons of hot sex, jealously and angst so palpable at times I had to remind myself to take a breath, this was an addicting read.

I'm not sure I can express my emotions through this experience with Mirella, most of the time she frustrates the hell out of me, but this unique story has a pull on me. I couldn't stop reading if I wanted to. And I honestly don't know what I want to happen with these couples, it's like watching a train wreck. I may be partial to Gabe, but then he seems to be is all about sexing up Bridget, and Weston is so intense, I can't help but like him too. I have no idea how I feel, and although the cliffhanger ending was a bit predictable, I am looking forward to seeing how it will play out.
HASH(0xa7d3fc2c) out of 5 stars butterflies in my tummy, oh my! Dec 10 2015

This is book 2 in the rule breakers series and it picks up the continuing story of Mirella/Gabe and Weston/Bridget's agreement. The agreement is called off in the beginning until Weston reaches back out to Mirella. After much consideration, it is decided that they will continue this agreement, but with some revised rules on Mirella's terms. Lines continued to get blurred in their marriage and at times you are pulled right along with them and half of you want it to go one way and the other half is like this is crazy go that way. I was on the end of my seat reading this much anticipated book and the ending OMG, can I have book 3 please with a butterfly on top?

I truly believe that you can have more than one soul mate in this world. One is your always soul mate and the other is the soul mate that makes up what the relationship may be lacking, whether in a past relationship or a current relationship. This book touches on many relationship issues and while many may not agree with these types of agreements it is a book worth reading to get what others who do go into agreements with other couples experience.

I don't want to say any spoilers so I guess the only thing I can say is that I love both Gabe and Weston and am truly torn on how I want this to play out. Book 3 will be interesting cause I want it to go one way and than I want it to go another way. I was plotting two different versions in my head, but I guess we will have to see how Roya rolls in the coming book. Days later and I'm still in shock on the end, while predictable it was a twist that leaves those butterflies in your tummy waiting to see what will transpire. Rules are meant to be broken and hoping for a dual agreement with a HEA.

On the flipside, which man wouldn’t want a woman who would give up anything to make him happy, who would give away jewellery to charity rather than wear it to obey his dominance and would rather destroy her heart than bring pain to her loved ones from her actions. For a novel most would believe taboo, it has some of the most down to earth themes we live through every day that you simply can’t ignore the fact that Gabe and Mirella could be the couple with their adorable two daughters that have recently moved across the street and you’d never notice what happens behind closed doors and once the lights go out at night.

This is the second book in the series. The stories about two married couples swapping spouses to have a sexual experience with another persons spouse. Weston and Bridget made an arrangement with Mirella and Gabe to have an open casual sexual experience with each other as long as all parties are in agreement.
Gabe and Mirella are married. They have two daughters. Weston and Bridget have kids as well. Both want to remain loyal in their marriage.
The first arrangement was ended by Weston and Bridget. A new arrangement is made with a rewriting of the rules. The rules are to explore each other physically. They both have commitments and obligations to their spouses and kids.
Mirella states that sex is about pleasure and passion not connection therefore this arrangement is only for pleasure.
Keep in mind while reading this that all parties are in agreement to this arrangement. The arrangement has rules. The rules are to protect people from getting hurt. The arrangement is set up to have guilt free sex without upsetting the marriage or disrupting the lives of their children.
The arrangement teeters along the edge of intimacy and sex. It's seductive and taboo. The story is told from Ella's POV. At times I desperately want Gabe's POV.
These characters are the definition of nymphomaniacs.
In book 1 we learned that Weston and Bridget propositioned Gabe and Mirella to a couples swap with 5 rules. 1. Don't sleep around 2. Don't kiss and tell 3. Be nice 4. Do Not text or call 5. Don't fall in love. What they failed to include in these rules were the emotions that will occur.
In book 2 we learn that the rules needed to be rewritten. This time Mirella makes the arrangements and the rules. 1. Monogamy 2. Discretion 3. Respect 4. Communication limited to scheduling dates 5. For all to be friends and travel together.
This time the arrangement with include spending time together as couples and include the children. One big happy family.
Sex is an inherent part of the story. This sexual journey explores the emotional growth between Weston and Bridget.
This is an open arrangement however many lines have been crossed and many boundaries obliterated.
This story opens up the door of reason as to how Weston and Bridget began their journey to an open marriage.
It's a taboo story that teeters along the edge of right and wrong. Love is never an issue. It's expressed. Being satisfied sexually was never an issue. It's never denied. Gabe is willing to share his wife to another man as long as that man understands she belongs to him forever. Happiness was never an issue.
This book ends with a cliffhanger and you won't want to miss what happens in the next book. How will this arrangement end? Who will get hurt?
