Product Description

The Ground Rules were impossible to follow. It was hard not to become completely consumed by the beautiful and enigmatic Weston Hanson. The heart of a romantic was not fit for this kind of exchange. So, when it ended, I was shattered, but it was all for the better…or so we thought.

The Ground Rules were rewritten, and then bent. We lied to ourselves. We told ourselves we could handle this. Not a single one of us realized just how big this was...just how devastating it could become.

And now, there are no Rules. We are undone.

Lust… infatuation…blinds you. It can tear everything apart. But sometimes, life needs to be completely torn apart before it can be mended – not just cracked at the edges, but utterly shattered, before you can truly see the mess you’ve become.

I love them both, but I can’t have them both. While one pulls me in, the other pushes me away. And when both eventually open their hearts, I must make the hardest decision of my life.

They say all good things must come to an end, but I was sad to say goodbye to this series - the back and forths between Mirella, Gabe and Weston was a constant struggle that had me coming back for more. In The Ground Rules we meet the two couples and find out how and why the rules were created - we also see how Mirella fell for Weston and made the choice to break it off. The Ground Rules: Rewritten tells how both Weston and Bridget want to throw caution in the wind and bend the rules to get together once again.

What can I say'I absolutely loved this series. I literally devoured the first 2 books and I promised myself I would slowly savour the final book in the trilogy. As much as I wanted to know how the story ended, I didn't want to let go of Mirella, Gabe, Weston and Bridget. But unfortunately I was weak and I gobbled up The Ground Rules Undone as soon as I got my hands on it. Now I wish I could go back and unread the trilogy so I could read it again. While the first two books were about breaking the rules and falling in love/ lust, this book was all about the consequences. This series sucked me in from the very beginning to the very end and made me feel. Frustration, anger, fear, hope, tears of joy and sadness - you name it, I felt it. What I didn't feel was indifference.

During the torturous months waiting for The Ground Rules Undone to be released, I drove myself crazy coming up with different scenarios as to how the story would play out. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at the way it actually unfolded.

The sex in this book was still beautiful but somehow seemed more desperate. The ending was unexpected but clever and I can see why it ended the way it did. Although I was happy with the ending, I still needed just a little bit more to be completely satisfied. I would love a follow up novella from Bridget's POV (need to get into her head) partly because I want to see everyone truly heal and happy with their HEA and partly because I cant seem to let go of these 4 just quite yet.

HASH(0x9de13abc) out of 5 stars Expected more! Feb. 24 2016
By Joy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Sorry!! Spoilers ahead!
I was really excited to read the ending of the book but everything went south!! Most of the book is just describing Mirella's day and nothing was happening! She loves them both and can't resist neither!! Really??!
As for Weston, he becomes too weak and psychotic!
But what I really don't get is the end!
Morella and Gabe's story goes through different stages to end up to their happily ever after and I got that!
What I don't andres tank is Bridget and the ending of their story! Can please someone answer me how is it possible that Weston looses his memory (the sad parts of his life only!!!!)and Bridget believes is for the best to not mention to him this hole ordeal they went through or that he almost had a baby with someone else and they live happily ever after!! This new relationship they are starting is probably based on trust!! Very strong foundation for a healthy relationship!! And ok!! she throws away some pics and CDs she found so that he won't see and remember Mirella! What about his phone! Aren't there any message? Pictures? Emails? What about the house he bought?? What about all his issues!! Are they magically fixed along with his very convenient amnesia???!! I just don't get it!! I wanted a more natural transition to their relationship as well!!

HASH(0x9ddf5de0) out of 5 stars Some spoilers......Weston deserved more. Feb. 24 2016

I slept on it before writing this review. I absolutely loved book 1&2 and was dyyyyyyyyying waiting on book 3. I don't really understand what happened. First of all, when did Mirella become such a weak, needy woman? She was so strong and knew what she wanted in the other books. In this book, I feel like she sacrificed some of herself in order to keep her marriage together. Gabe told her there was no way they could be a family together and raise another man's baby, that he was so angry with her..... Yet the minute that problem is removed everything is just hunky dory and he moves right back in. Poor Weston. He is just left hung out to dry in the whole book. He is the person that is the most honest of them all and he just gets strung along and heartbroken. And he is the only person at the end who doesn't get a happy ending. I think the book was well written but this last installment just seemed disconnected from the other two. It would be interesting to have a book written as a continuation of this story from Weston's POV as he moves forward with his new reality.

HASH(0x9d2e6af8) out of 5 stars Soooo not what I expected Feb. 25 2016
By Cristina - Published on Amazon.com

I honestly don't even know where to start with this review. I have so many thoughts, opinions, and emotions over this entire series. I knew going into it that this was going to be an emotional roller coaster for me. Sometimes romance novels can be a little far fetched. I mean it is fiction after all. I wasn't sure what to expect with this series. Two married couples swapping partners? Let the drama ensue.. I wind up falling so deeply in love with the first two books because of it's emotional and situational realism. It wasn't far fetched. It was real, raw, painful, and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Mind you I would NEVER agree to an arrangement like this in my personal life, but I could understand Mirella. I felt what she was going through and her thoughts and reactions would have been my own, given the circumstances. What I couldn't understand was her husband, Gabe. Why in the world did he ever agree to a second time around?! He should have picked up on the fact that his wife was falling in love with Weston, but I guess he was too naive or arrogant to think that it could ever happen. Maybe it was because it wasn't like that with Bridgette? Or maybe he just wanted his cake and eat it too. Mirella had only ever been with her husband and she was naturally an emotional person. Two BIG red flags for this type of arrangement. Gabe should have known. He should have protected Mirella and their marriage and said no to round 2. He was to focused on hopping back into bed with Bridgette... smh

Going into the third book, my expectations were different. The arrangement was over and the rules were gone. Now it was time to deal with the consequences. I fully expected a messy ending to a messy situation. Before I dove into book 3, I honestly had no idea who Mirella would pick. At this point, I was leaning towards Weston, but I still wasn't sure. I could see their relationship and love developing over the course of the year they spent together. Keep in mind these were not casual hook-ups or trips to a sex club. These couples were actually dating. Dinner, conversation, followed by.. well you know. Open marriage type of concept. (smh just thinking about it) After about 30% into book 3, I knew what her choice was going to be. Weston played a very small part in the first part of this book and I knew it was a set-up for the ending. Not to mention the author took his character in a completely different direction which is what truly frustrated me. It felt like something that was purposely done to separate me from Weston. To see him in a new light. Honestly I felt (and still feel) in the end that Weston was the only real person in the bunch and he wind up getting screwed over in the end. He lost Mirella, his unborn son, and five years of his life. Seriously?! Meanwhile, Gabe, Mirella, and Bridgette get their happy endings. I realize with amnesia Weston, he will never know what happened, but COME ON!! He deserved more than that!!! Instead now he has a marriage based partly on deception.

This last book lost touch with the emotional and situational realism that was captured in books 1 and 2. It felt more like a telenovela ending which was so COMPLETELY unsuited to the entire series. I was shocked and so disappointed. I expected a messy ending to a messy situation and instead I got far fetched and convenient. The two things that were standing in the middle of these marriages were suddenly wiped away?!?! Please... This series had the ability to be my favorite of all time and now I can barely look at it. I have never been this upset or disappointed with a book ending in my entire reading life. I just felt like Ms. Carmen dropped the ball with this one. This book had the potential to be something great, epic, and awesome! This was a taboo subject and it deserved an unconventional ending. It's the uniqueness of the subject and material that set it apart from other romance series.

With that said, Ms. Carmen is one of the best authors I have ever come across in my reading world. Even if I disagree with the ending, it doesn't take away from her exceptional writing ability. I am very much looking forward to what she comes up with in the future!!

FYI -You know what I would like to see? A series focused on Weston getting his memories back and going in search of Mirella, who coincidentally realizes that she made the wrong choice. Or how about an alternate ending? SOMETHING for Weston!!!

HASH(0x9d516114) out of 5 stars Some spoilers.. Feb. 25 2016

Where do I even begin.. This is probably one of the hardest reviews I've had to write. I LOVED book 1 and 2. I could not wait for this book to come out so I could have the conclusion but I can't help but being disappointed in this book. In book 2, Mirella seemed to be madly in love with Weston even though she was fighting it then in book 3, it's like that feeling wasn't even there. Then Gabe left because of the situation but then as soon as the situation is gone, everything is perfectly fine again? I don't know.. It just wasn't going to be what I thought. Absolutely love Royas writing, it's always amazing. But the story line just didn't do it for me!

HASH(0x9d3a9d20) out of 5 stars 3.5 rating. The rules are gone. It's time to deal with the consequences of their actions. Feb. 23 2016
By annmric - Published on Amazon.com

Mirella is torn between telling the truth or keeping a secret because it will likely destroy families. Mirella is eaten with guilt which inadvertently leads to avoidance and depression. Mirella faces a decision that will ruin lives. A situation she created but does not have the answers to solve.
Rather than confront the truth Mirella dwells on the possible scenarios imagining and convincing herself she knows how the truth will play out.

An author writes a story to challenge themselves with unconventional topics and in this case Roya has done just that. Roya created a story with the what if possibilities. Which led to some devastating consequences. That's what is so appealing about this taboo story. It offers you questionable situations that you hope to never find yourself in yet find exciting since its happening in a book character.
I think as a reader we are curious creatures about the forbidden temptations that typically are only read about. Authors can let their minds run wild with crazy drama. On that note you will find this story is all about two couples who crossed the lines in regards to lust. They were driven by something they thought was missing in their marriage. So focused on the thrill of sex with another person. The thought of it interfering in their personal lives overlooked. Until all the rules that were written became rewritten and then they found the rules had undone them. They relied on the rules to protect them forgetting to actually follow them.
The premise for this story was brilliant yet I found I still could not connect to any one the characters. The execution of the story and chosen words was not bringing forth the attachment I needed. I was not drawn in. I wish I was. Roya's writing style just is not the right fit for me.
Some of the circumstances in the story were questionable and predictable. I was disappointed with the conclusion to this arrangement and how Roya chose to resolve the situation. The round about way of determining a persons worth and not taking them for granted was quite extreme. It seemed more as a form of punishment than a solution. For this reason alone the best I can offer is a 3.5⭐️ review.
