I reside in Central Florida with the wife and two daughters. After thirty years in engineering, my time is now spent chronicling the adventures of fictitious heroes. They are off-world, fighting the good fight, keeping Man alive. For some it was meant to be their calling. For others... not so much. All however are willing to fight until the end. Flip open one of my books. Tag along as unlikely heroes try to conquer the galaxy or save all humanity. Get aboard as you're either with us or against us. This may be your ticket out of here... at least for a short while. Hope you have a great day!

The entire series is somewhat entertaining, but suffers from many spelling and grammatical errors. Does no one proofread books anymore before they are published? For instance Malcolm Stark is sometimes spelled as "Malcolm" and many other places spelled "Malcom". The author builds up to problems encountered by the main characters well, but then pops in with rapid solutions that make it seem like they are all miracle workers. Love the character development, but the plots are weak.
Well, both this book and the first book kept me interested and looking forward to seeing the story progress. I found, at times, the progress was unrealistically simplified, for example the training in becoming proficient with weapons or operating a highly advanced starship took only a matter of days or weeks. To be fair though, I guess sometimes the plot has to be hurried along to stop the narrative from becoming too draggy. I did enjoy the action, which is pretty much non-stop, no prolonged intervals with too much talking and the characters are quite well developed with enough humour thrown in to make me smile occasionally. Now I'll buy the next book in the series.
5.0 out of 5 starsFast paced realistic sci fi action.

Axiom is the second book in this Sci-fi series and it is here that the Hadron story series picks up pace. Book 1 (Dark matter) is slow to start and reminds me of the author's very first book of his excellent Sodium series. If you can battle through Book 1 in this Hadron series and get to this second book then you won't be disappointed. The characters now really start to come to life, the action rapidly picks up pace and Aliens appear. There is a gorgeous mix of alien technology mixed with some really clever and insightful thought of how Aliens in reality would very probably interact with the human race. Stephen's trademark style: is a super mix of politics, action and alien technology spun in a fast paced story telling style that makes it very difficult to put this book down. I can't wait for book three. Keep these stories coming Stephen, this looks like it may be the best series you have yet written.
This series of eight books has a really great storyline. I unfortunately am not keen on he writing style which seems to skip over so much and is a bit soppy in others. It's probably just my take on it but I can only review from my point of view. After all that I must reiterate that the storyline is great and if you can put up with the things I have mentioned it's still worth trying out the series after all I did because of the storyline.
