Having read all eight books I am angry at myself for reading what turned out to be a tribute to stupidity and human frailty.

The stupidity started when the author decided to turn four back country bar customers from red necks into scientists able to create futuristic weapons and space ships capable of faster than light wormhole transit,, knock off half a dozen alien species with billions of citizens and save the earth.

I spent $30.00 on this rubbish so I guess it’s me that was the stupid one. I will stay away from this author he’s obviously smarter than me!

Finally finished this series of books and whilst there are some excellent ideas and story-lines within the series it is simply too long and drawn out. Having invested time and money into reading the first few titles in the series I felt obliged to complete it, and I'm glad I did, but in all honesty the story could be told in considerably less books. I found the final book the most difficult as the story barely limped along, mirroring most of the previous titles, the main characters facing issues which they resolved only to have their efforts thwarted by further technological advances by the enemy. The finale when it came was ridiculously quick and rushed, with barely enough time spent explaining the plot-lines to make sense. It left me feeling somewhat cheated.
I'd happily read further books by this author but only if they were completed series that contained less titles. Hate to give negative feedback to an author but it really was overly dragged out.
