After buying this printer, I will not buy HP products anymore. I'm so frustrated with how they have set it up that it motivated me to write a review. The printer size is fine, prints well enough, quickly enough. But the process of trying to get it to print is so frustrating it wasn't worth the lower price. They force you to print an alignment page each time you put in a new ink cartridge, which is about every 70 pages or so on typical text document pages! The only thing it's aligning is how to use more ink more quickly. I have about 9 of these alignment pages now and I would happily say I already have it, but the software that invasively pops up all the time no longer allows me the option of saying I have already printed it. When you choose to NOT do the alignment, it forces you to say no thanks with every single print job you do. Very frustrating when you print as much as I do!

HP has set this printer up to use as much ink as possible. You can't change the settings to select draft mode as a saved setting; when you install your ink a huge pop up comes up on your screen, further delaying your ability to continue work after having to spend 5 minutes doing the ridiculous alignment. The pop up thanks you for using HP products and encourages you to sign up on their website with all your info so they can further tick you off with more invasive messages in your life.

If you want to be able to just get your print jobs done quickly and get on with your work, this is not the printer for you. Bloatware is more fun than dealing with this printer. I'm in the market for new hardware (tablet, laptop) and I specifically will avoid HP products now because of this cheap printer.

Love the wireless capability and no issues setting up with my apple laptops. Quick to print (has draft mode too), copy and scan.

Disadvantages: may move side to side on the desk whilst printing, can't directly scan to computer without first installing hp bloatware on your computer, does chew through ink but overall I find hp much better than other brands such as Canon, etc.

Overall excellent multi function device for the home office. Would get 5* if you could scan without having to install the bloatware.

Purchased on sale for $59.99 (Same price as Best Buy). Arrived one day before expected delivery, about 24 hours after I purchased it. It was extremely easy to set up - if you know your wifi password it takes about 3 minutes from start to finish. I have only printed two sheets with it, in vivid colour, which it does wonderfully. The ink has gone down by about 1/6 on the ink level view after printing only two pages though, so I don't see them lasting a long time.

Have two of these 4502 series, Right past the warranty date for both printers, I started getting warning message that Ink cartridge was not genuine( even though it was HP) Soon after the print qulaity deteriorated, with ink not flowing through. Even with new cartridge the ink does not flow through. HP must be deactivating some function in the print head just past warranty dates. Never buying HP printers again

I love this printer. No issues, and it was extremely easy and hassle-free to set up. No problems printing from three different computers, and two different cell phones wirelessly.

The wireless connectivity to AMAZING. Very useful and beyond that the print is very precise. I'm worried about ink levels as I have printed off maybe 20 or so sheets and have three quarters of the ink level left, will have to keep checking that! Mind you it shipped fast enough, though I was disappointed that the box was VERY beat up... But my printer was pristine so I guess its not a big issue. Just expected more. I got it on sale which was great, but that's all I would spend on it. The 'regular price' seems very high!

I found it easy to set up and connect to our wifi and the first day of printing and scanning had no issues. But it was too big for my desk (it is a beast; not compact by any means) so I packed it up and put it in the closet.

Two months later I take it out, and now it can't print a single page without cutting off the tops from various lines of text. I tried everything in HP's troubleshooting article and their support software and my color ink cartridge is down to 75% just from printing test and alignment pages. I finally fixed it by switching from Normal to Best printing mode (a Windows setting). Now it no longer cuts lines in half. Instead it gets halfway through every 2nd or 3rd page then just stops printing and spits the paper out with the bottom half blank. I have to carefully inspect every page that comes out of it.

I'm just about ready to take a baseball bat to this thing, Office Space style.

This is my second HP MFD in six years. My previous one was working just fine, but I relocated and wanted a wireless option. Due to the great experience with the previous model, I decided to buy HP again.

This printer is very easy to set up. I installed it on Windows 10 and didn't even need to download software - it just worked. It may be, however, that for things like printer cartridge alignment and ink level monitoring you need HP software. I tend not to use these features and prefer Windows native drivers where possible.

Being wireless, I was also able to very quickly add it from my Nexus phones and tablet. I also look forward to configuring it via Google Cloud Print and print from my Chromebook, but haven't gotten to that yet.

Print quality and speed are good. One feature that impressed me: I printed something on both sides of paper. That usually involves printing all odd-numbered pages, then manually flipping the stack around and clicking a button to print all even-numbered pages. The printer put out the first page, then stopped while the screen displayed "Waiting for ink to dry..." All of a sudden it pulled the paper back in, reversed it, and printed on the other side! The printer's not more than six inches tall, with a scanner bed on top and cartridges and mechanics below the paper tray, so I'm a bit impressed by the way it reverses paper automatically. I was not aware of this when I bought it and was gladly surprised.

I have not tested the scanner, but as I mostly use it for documents I don't care much about high-resolution fidelity. In other words, I don't scan pictures with it. I also don't print pictures - this one's supposed to be able with special ink and paper, but I don't think I'll try it anytime soon.
