I use it at work. It is very light and ergonomic. It is great for CAD and modeling applications. It can be used either right or left handed. It doesn't have a scroll wheel so it takes a little time to get used to it.

The mouse feels very light and uncomfortable to use. Accuracy is awful. I thought this would be good for 3D modeling but it turned out to be a total fail in that regard.

very good for engineer to do CAD 3D modeling, use one hand to easily control all operations. Light and accurate ! Hopefully it will last long.

HASH(0x9d462138) out of 5 stars Better than the Belkin June 6 2008
By Graham Nash - Published on Amazon.com
I need a true 3-button mouse since I use X-windows a lot and my favorite application uses button chording so a scroll wheel really is a non-starter. I have been using the Belkin F8E842 for some time now, but the latest one started producing double clicks whenever I press button 2. After some research I saw that HP produced a similar mouse so I acquired it. After some time using it, I find it superior to the Belkin. Firstly, it is more precise in its movement and positioning. Secondly, pressing any button is again more precise and definitely feels better. I have not used it long enough to know whether it is more reliable, but for the moment, of the two, it is my preferred mouse. If it lasts a year than I'll upgrade its rating to 5 stars.

HASH(0x9d807a8c) out of 5 stars Perfect for Alias Jan. 30 2013

Some times you just need three buttons and no wheel. Alias needs constant use of all three buttons and some people can get used to using the wheel as a centre button but I sure can't!

HASH(0x9d63fe88) out of 5 stars Buy it from Amazon <<< NOT ONE OF THEIR VENDORS May 6 2014
By Bai Fan - Published on Amazon.com

I bought the used version of this item (or a new from another amazon vendor) and they shipped out the wrong mouse. They sent me an HP 2.5 button mouse (the third button was a wheel) instead of the mouse pictured. I had to wait for slow shipping, had to wait to get in contact with the dealer (who never responded) in an attempt to get a replacement.

In the end, trying to save a couple dollars lost me weeks of lost work time and no replacement mouse. Amazon finally refunded my money, but I was out of luck for the mouse. I cannot work in Maya with a mouse wheel. It slows down movement too much and makes it nearly unworkable.

As far as the review goes, the mouse is 5 out of 5. My last one lasted me almost a decade, and I have not found a better mouse for working in 3d. As far as amazon goes, 1 out of 5 since I never actually got the mouse.

HASH(0x9d5dc0b4) out of 5 stars The best mouse for Linux Dec 31 2013
By Lars Lehtonen - Published on Amazon.com

Left button copy, middle button paste. Middle-click on desktop for a list of running applications.

My fingers have gotten used to this over the last 20 years. This mouse is a necessity if you use Linux full-time, especially now that the new Thinkpads don't have physical mouse buttons anymore.

I've bought a stockpile.
HASH(0x9d632f90) out of 5 stars A nice TRUE three-button mouse :) March 15 2016
By Rich Nagel - Published on Amazon.com

I recently purchased one of these mice, and received it in the mail today.

One minor problem that I found was that the two little self-adhesive slider surfaces on the bottom of the mouse were coming off. This may be simply due to defective adhesive on the slider pieces, so I am going to return this one and order a replacement.

That being said, the mouse STILL slides quite easily and nicely on a standard mouse pad even WITHOUT the little slider pieces.

The buttons are quite easy to push, and are "crisp" feeling with no "slop". The mouse is 460 DPI and tracks quite nicely, and is comparable to a Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse. It ALSO feels quite similar to my old ancient serial/PS2 Logitech MouseMan Pro, which I was looking to replace.

In conclusion: If you are looking for a TRUE three-button mouse WITHOUT an (IMHO) annoying wheel (or rather, as I like to call them, a "Wheelie-Mouse" LOL!), or if you're looking for something to replace your old Logitech MouseMan Pro, the HP DY651A fits the ticket quite nicely! :)
