Filled with a desire to continue to protect those who he sees as a victim, he's always quick to step in and assist anyone in need. Through a newfound friend, he meets a woman who was the victim of as random act of violence. Initially, he hopes for nothing in return but the satisfaction of helping her.

Katie "Bug" Ripton is attempting to quietly recover from being the victim of an assault. When she meets Alec, she sees a man who is kind, considerate, and not only capable of comforting her, but willing to protect her from harm.

*Hard Corps: Selected Sinners MC Romance, Book 7 by Scott Hildreth is a must read for anyone who has been following the Selected Sinners MC series. If you have read the Selected Sinners series you will want to read this to see what the MC family is doing. This can be read along as all the Selected Sinners MC series could.
Alec James Jacob, A-Train, sees himself as a protector, be it in the Marines for 12 years or now in civil life. Katie "Bug" Ripton has been a victim of rape and is in recovery mode. “Apart, their lives are empty and seem to be haunted by the memories of their pasts. Together, their pasts disappear, and a future begins to unfold.”
Scott Hildreth’s storytelling is just as wonderful as ever. This story is as gritty as some of the other Selected Sinners books and has surprisingly sweet, touching moments that keep you turning the pages to fine the changes that has Alec “…becoming human again.”.
Scott Hildreth gives us another story from the support characters (Brothers) of his Selected Sinners. I enjoyed this story, tears and all. I can’t wait for our next visit with the Selected Sinners.

Thanks Scott Hildreth & Good Writing

5-STARS
I would give more if I could!

Once in a while, if you are very very lucky a book will touch you in such a profound and powerful way that you will be forever changed. Hard Corps is one of those books!

If you have read any of Scotts other books then you probably already know (and love) Alec Jacob a.k.a. A-Train. Although this is truly a stand alone he has been in quite a few other books. He's a marine through and through. Tough, rugged, powerful and sexy as sin. Returning home from deployment he finds out that his wife is cheating on him and divorces her. He is sort of just drifting for a while trying to re-acclimate himself to civilian life, and then he meets a woman who makes him come alive!

I have been a fan of A-Train for a very long time and so I was overjoyed when I found out we would finally be getting his story. I knew it was going to be a fantastic book, but what I didn't expect was just how much it affected me. Some how the stars aligned just right and the universe made it possible for this specific author to create this specific character and the result it one of the best books I have ever read. Not this month, or this year, EVER. It is a bit different from Scott's other works, but it works so well. The writing is superb. The story flows very smoothly. You are able to really dive into the story. They stop being characters and become very real. Tears will flow as you read so make sure you have tissues handy. You heart will break for him but then when he is happy your heart will soar. Most of this authors characters have very strong moral codes and that has never been more true than with A-Train. It may not always be what others consider right but he stands strong in his beliefs. He is the kind of man other men need to aspire to be.

Fans of Scott Hildreth have been clamoring to get the whole story on A-Train. He shows up in each of Scott’s series and always brings a unique perspective to the action in whatever book he is in. It’s taken me most of the day to organize my thoughts enough to write this review.

Honestly, this is Scott Hildreth, people, the man blows me away each time I pick up his books! Hard Corps brings us the life and times of Alec Jacob aka A-Train. The story is told in his point of view from the time he is 18 up until the present. It covers all of the story lines he has been a part of in other books but again, from his point of view. This book can be a stand-alone, however, I really feel that those who have come to know A-Train will get so much more out of this story than those meeting him for the first time.

The book brings together so many elements---military, MC, boxer/fighter, coming of age, romance ---really fits the needs of a lot of readers. We see other characters we have come to love: Erik, Slice, Dekk, Ripp and their ladies. That said, what the book says between the lines is where the reader will get all the feels. Alec is a man profoundly changed by his circumstances. He is a man of strong convictions and a true guardian and friend to those he brings close. His respect for children and families will bring you to your knees. What I found myself marveling at was his voice. I have read the other series he is part of and to be able to not only tie in his story lines to this book, but to keep him in character, speaks to the phenomenal writing style of this author. No doubt in my mind, this book was about the A-Train we all know.

Once again, thank you Scott for bringing the reader this profound study of the human condition. For showing us not only what beliefs and desires make a man, but also what it means to be truly loved. Bravo!

I was mesmerized, hurt, mad, sad, happy, this book had me feeling every emotion and more. Scott Hildreth took me on a eye opener, emotional roller-coaster. I got an in depth look from the fighting lines and was knocked on my ass. I've never felt so drawn into a story like I was with this one I hurt for A - Train I was scared, pissed as if I was there fighting with him, but I kinda of understood the fight on the home front to, but it never compares to what service men do for us.
Alec Jacob is a war hero, but he is also a man who feels he needs to make his life right. His killed many with being in war and if he can save just one life from being taken then he's turning he's life around and having important people in your life makes it possible to want to be better, to give second chances. Alec's life hasn't been easy fighting in war, going through a divorce but once he meet Rippton and the gang he gets a since of family again , somthing to live for especially when he meets Katie , Mikes sister. Katie has experience pain and knows how important life is and to want to protect it. When she talks to Alec she sees so much more than a man who has killed, she sees a man who will protect what he cares about at no cost. I could go on about this book but it wouldn't make sense cause really you would have to read it to understand the felling , the description of Alec's life on the fighting lines is as real as you can get with out being there, every word so vivid I felt like I was there , to have a young man come from the pits of hell , to want nothing more but goodness and helping people have second chances., to sweet, loving and bad ass wrapped in one. I love all of Scott's book and Mike Rippton WAS my favorite but Alec A-Train Jacobs is by far by favorite now. amazing job, I just hope I do it justice with this review and this story deserves way more than a 5 star.
