Product Description

All of her life, Cadence “Cade” Williams has been lied to…

With her ailing father on his deathbed, a whispered secret sends Cadence’s life into a tailspin. Determined to either confirm or debunk her father’s claim, she sets out on a mission to grow close to the only man with evidence to set things straight. To do that, Cadence earns a position in an elite security firm owned by her father’s old army buddy, Noah “Mac” Mackinley.

Mac is the only man who could hold the evidence to support her father’s claims…

But first, she must prove herself worthy of Mac’s trust and get close enough to find the truth. Her first mission is to watch over an eight-year old girl, Harley Clark.

Harley is not an ordinary girl. She’s the daughter of a rock star…

Despite her fragile appearance, Harley has tenacity and brilliance like nothing Cade has ever seen. To everyone’s surprise—including her own—Cade forms an unlikely friendship with the beautiful wallflower.

Her first assignment just became more interesting…

When Harley’s rock star father, Jax Clark, enters the scene, Cade can’t deny the instant attraction for the self-proclaimed bad boy. Tattoos, piercing eyes, and a raspy voice that sends thousands of fans into a screaming frenzy, he’s more than just a heartthrob. Worse, Jax starts to pay her more attention than she expects.

She’s faced with a choice—get lured in by the celebrity world and lose any chance of finding out the truth, or stick to the plan and avoid Jax at all costs to earn Mac’s trust.

Cade needed to find out who her father really was so she moved from New Jersey to Vancouver to find the man she believed to be her father. That man was Mac who owned Mackinley Security. He treated Cade very badly but gave her a job anyway. He finally gave her an assignment to be the bodyguard of a rock star's daughter. She was so happy to get the high profile assignment that she didn't let the idea that she was more like a babysitter than bodyguard bother her.

Cade was a bodyguard to Harley - a very, very mature 8 year old of the famous rock star, Jax Clark. Jax had just gotten full custody of his daughter and didn't know how to raise a child but he wanted to learn. Harley was glad to be away from her mother since she treated her more like a personal assistant than a daughter and was a terrible person who was constantly going off the deep end when things didn't go her way.

Even though Cade had no experience with children she got along with Harley great and they formed a strong bond. She understood Harley better than her father did so she was soon able to bring her out of her shell so she acted like herself - an 8 year old girl.

I loved the characters, especially Harley. It was nice to see her get to be a child and have a friend to confide in. Jax was happy with his rock star life with the fame and women but he was ready to be a father to his daughter an settle down. He was a kind and thoughtful man. Even though Cade was going through her own problems she put them aside to be there for Harley and be her bodyguard.

I smiled and cried while reading Harley but I also laughed. This is a wonderful story that's well written and fast paced. It wasn't what I expected from a rock star romance at all but I really enjoyed it. I also liked the way Jax and Cade's relationship built up.

I liked Harley and glad I won it in a giveaway. You should read this book. You won't be disappointed.

HASH(0x9a159a38) out of 5 stars Poor girl I felt for her having to be the ... March 17 2016
By Kat - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Okay well, I’m giving this a three out of five stars but I ill explain why.

Harley is 8 going on 30 literally before she moved with her rockstar father she was basically taking care of her mother. Poor girl I felt for her having to be the adult instead of the kid. She is too darn cute though.

Cade as we know by now from the synopsis she move across the country to find her father. She becomes a bodyguard in her father’s security firm. Her first assignment is to guard Harley. I really like her character she is strong but she also showed some softer sides to her. Meaning her stellar relationship with Harley.

Jax is a rockstar the women love him and he is talented. Underneath all that rock star swagger he is a good man with a good heart to boot. I just saw him as a dad learning the ropes on how to be a single father. Especially to be a good father to a daughter he has to set en example after all.

I felt like Cade and Jax relationship was a bit force d. throughout the book I didn’t see how they really connected until the end. Over all it was a likable story which is why I gave it that rating. I hoped for a bit more but, I will keep an open mind and wait for the next book in this series.

HASH(0x9a159a8c) out of 5 stars One look at the steaming hot guy on the cover of this book was enough to draw me in. March 14 2016
By Ali - The Dragon Slayer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
One look at the steaming hot guy on the cover of this book was enough to draw me in .. without reading the blurb I assumed that the hunk was called Harley. Anything for a bad boy .. he has it all, piercings, tattoos, good looks so I figured there would be a great romance happening.
It turns out however that he is Jax .. a mega hot rock star. Harley is in fact his eight year old daughter! Now a bad boy with a child is even more alluring. Her mother has issues, Harley has had to grow up incredibly quickly and she can be a bit precocious.

Enter Cade .. the lady hired to be her bodyguard/babysitter .. the relationship that forms between the two is quite sweet and inevitably Harley thinks she can manufacture a romance between Cade and her Dad. Cade has her own reasons for not getting involved, she is on a mission to discover the truth about her own father.

It’s nicely written, Harley definitely takes the central role although I’m not sure that was the intention. It’s the first in a series so it will be interesting to see what develops next.

Thanks to the author and Xpresso Book Tours for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thoroughly enjoyed 'Harley' by Michelle Jo Quinn. I enjoyed the toe curling romance and the human stories unfolding between an unassuming security guard, a rock star and his larger-than-life daughter. I would defiantly recommend 'Harley'!Harley (West Coast Rock Star Series Book 1)

HASH(0x9a1ba384) out of 5 stars A rockstar father, enchanting child & her bodyguard Feb. 11 2016
By Snowbunny1977 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This was actually a sweet story. Its not your typical rock and roll bad boy story. Not at all and honestly I hate those lol. I read this because I discovered this author during a Facebook event and loved the video for her book.

Harley was such an enchanting child. She's different and very wise beyond her years. She's far more mature than a typical 8 year old little girl should be. She does have a heart condition and that has a lot to do with the way she is and her mother Fiona is God awful. I mean who has their child play her PA? Yeesh. Harley can be so adult sometimes I forgot she was a child. I know some reviewers might think her character is really unbelievable. Well... you dont know many kids then. There are some very unique children out there. Admittedly this isn't totally a romance because its centers around Harley mostly. Jax and Cade to a lot of dancing around and dont necessarily get together until a bit later in the book. I know some complained how the romance wasn't a big part of it. Well...the name of the book speaks for itself. Of course I wanted the intimacy between Jax and Cade to be more detailed but it wasn't totally necessary. We got the gist and I was able to overlook it myself because of how the book flowed.

Cade was a bit complex sorta. She's been let down a lot in her life. A father who's hated her but only tolerated her because of her mother. On his deathbed throwing a curve ball at her that he's not her father. So, she goes to her father's friend to find out the truth. Mac isn't nice to her at all! He's got the information that she needs but he treats her like crap and she works for him at his security firm. He's never given her an assignment til now so she can prove herself. That one's a doozy. She meets her new assignment in Harley and its instant love and adoration for the child. Her father Jax...she's thrown for a loop and tries really hard to remain professional. She does to a point and you gotta give her props for that.

Jax is a huge rock star. He's loved by everyone and especially women. He's not sure what to think of Cade but he totally likes her and is drawn to her. He's a typical rock star but he has a sweet genuine heart and he's trying to have a relationship with his daughter after she's recently started living with him. He's trying and he wants to be a good dad but is having trouble balancing it all and having feelings for Cade.

Jax wants Cade in their lives and he refuses to let her go. He wants a family that includes Harley and Cade. What is he willing to sacrifice? Everything? Its not gonna be easy and this book is one heck of a ride! I couldnt put it down y'all! I recommend the book and I'll keep a look out on more of Ms. Quinn's work. This is her debut I believe and she did great I think for a 1st.
