About the Author
Danielle Arsenault is slowly changing how we all see the world, one raw-food recipe at a time. Heal & Ignite: 55 Whole Food, Plant-based Recipes to Heal the Body and Ignite the Spirit is the product of patience, imagination and a strong motivation to change the standard American diet that has been proven to do more harm than good. The author of four previous vegan, gluten-free cookbooks in collaboration with Jessica Perlaza, Danielle also runs Pachavega Living Foods Education. She offers whole-food, plant-based catering, nutritional consultation and raw-food chef certification, including a forty-five-hour Healing Whole Foods Preparation Certificate and a seventy-hour Heal and Ignite Raw Chef Certificate. She has been a professor at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC, and developed and taught holistic nutrition cooking, superfoods and whole-foods preparation classes. She has also received a Permaculture Design Certificate from Sadhana Forest in Haiti as well as a Living Foods Lifestyle Education Certification from the Ann Wigmore Institute in Puerto Rico.
A passionate chef, Spanish teacher, cave guide, slack liner, rock climber, mountain lover and world traveler, Danielle is living proof that eating well can change your life. As she says, "No matter how busy I get with projects, ukulele picking, playing in the garden, crossing mountain ranges, writing cookbooks, riding motorcycles, teaching and dreaming, I still have to eat. My boundless energy and creative drive are directly related to the food I nourish my body with.."..
