This is one of the best reference books for folks who do historical re-enacting. The history lessons are worth the reading, and the receipts (recipes) written in the original language then translated to modern method are valuable. Knowing how to do it today makes it easier to recreate it in the 18th or 19th century technique. Her explanation of managing the fire is very good, something you don't usually see in print. Thanks for a great reference!
