HASH(0xa5acbf30) out of 5 stars Great debut novel! March 9 2014
By Amy - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was intrigued with this story from the very beginning. Maddie seemed to just exist in life. She survived something very tragic that left her without her mother and in the care of her stepfather, Frank, who only cared that she was around to run his errands and make his deliveries so his hands don't get dirty, plus this way, if he goes down, so does she. All Maddie wants is to survive the next couple months until she graduates from school, turns 18, and can get as far away from home as possible. Nothing else matters to Maddie, that is, until she meets Jase.
Jase, the new guy in school, is taken immediately with Maddie. He has an undeniable pull to her. She has major walls built around her heart and he works non-stop to tear them down, to prove to her she can trust him and that he won't abandon her like everyone else has.
Maddie is a strong character who has been through more than anyone her age should ever have to go through. When Dixon, her father's business associate, returns to town, he makes sure Maddie knows he believes she is "his". Maddie is terrified of Dixon, terrified of what he has done to her.
Can Maddie open up to Jase? Can she let him in? Jase is persistent and begins to tear down her walls one by one. When Maddie finally opens up to Jase and tells him everything about her past something happens that has her questioning everything and feeling like she can never trust anyone.
Can Jase get through to Maddie? Will she allow him to explain or even believe or trust him again? What happens when Dixon makes him move to prove to Maddie she is his?
Zoey did a great job on her debut novel. I look forward to reading more from this author.

HASH(0xa5acbf84) out of 5 stars Her Love Ran Crimson by Zoey Foster-Great YA Novel March 11 2014
By Loraine Oliver - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I received an arc for an honest review, and I am so glad I did. This book was about the struggle of a young girl to just survive until her 18th birthday so she can leave home. Living in a cold cruel world, a Step Father from hell and his clients, one of which abuses her and leaves scars on her heart she feels she may not ever get over, she lives one day to the next just biding her time. Even going to school is hell for her as no one is nice to her.
Enter a young man with his own scars, and the ability to see Maddie for who she is and wants to be with her and promises her he will never let her go it all by herself. Finally She has someone to open up to. They both survive unbelievable things.
This book was well written and the characters were well developed. The book had just the right amount of angst to keep the reader going and I guess what I got out of it was that sometimes when things are so hopeless we get a chance.
Loved this book and am looking forward to Zoey Foster's next one!

HASH(0xa5acf3d8) out of 5 stars Excellent YA book! Feb. 7 2014
By Paige Smith - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love discovering new YA authors, and I am definitely a Zoey Foster fan now. Her Love Ran Crimson is packed full of heartache and hope. Maddie is a strong female character trying to make the best of her current situation until she turns eighteen. Her stepfather is horrible, and I extremely disliked his character as I read this book. Every time she did something for him, I wanted to scream. My heart hurt for her. Jase is absolutely wonderful. Even though it takes Maddie a little while to warm up to him, they have great chemistry and he quickly grew on me.

This novel is a fantastic debut. Ms. Foster touches on some dark themes in this book, and she writes them very well. She has wonderful character development, and I loved seeing Maddie grow in this story. I can't wait to read more in this series from Ms. Foster.

HASH(0xa5acf87c) out of 5 stars Her Love Ran Crimson March 3 2014
By CRISSY - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This is the first book I have read from this author and I have to say I look forward to future books. Her Love Ran Crimson is a good read that will have you hooked from beginning to end and I read the book in one sitting. Maddie is in the world basically alone since the one person she loved was taken from her and her stepfather Frank has no love for her at all. He uses her as a pawn and threatens her on a daily basis. Maddie is counting down the days until she turns 18 and graduates. With nothing left keeping her there, her only chance at survival is escaping until she meets Jase. Jase shows Maddie everything no one else does, he’s caring, loving, understanding and determined to make her his. The only problem with that is Dixon believes Maddie is his and she knows just how dangerous Dixon is. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good romance with a lot of suspense, drama and one girl’s will to survive.
