Product Description

Tender, funny, and thought-provoking, this novel is one you'll remember long after you've turned the last page.

Rock star Jackson Bell has just given his heart to God. Resolved to abandon his wicked lifestyle and eager for instruction in Christian living, he heads home to Owatonna, Minnesota and the girl-next-door he's secretly loved for years. Dismayed to find Laney Ryland in the midst of a faith crisis, "Jeb" quickly formulates a plan: he'll help Laney get her faith back, and then he'll find her a good Christian man to marry so she can get started on that big family she longs for.

It won't be easy, watching another man slide a ring onto Laney's finger. But she deserves only the best, and Jeb means to see that she gets it. Now if only her great-aunts, those pesky 79-year-old matchmaking triplets known as the Three Graces, will just stay out of his way . . . .

Brenda Coulter's first four novels were published by Harlequin's popular "Love Inspired" imprint. One of them won a HOLT Medallion and a Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Award, and another was a finalist for Romance Writers of America's prestigious RITA Award (Best Inspirational Romance).

Brenda Coulter brings to light real-life faith struggles and God's healing grace. —RT Book Reviews

About the Author

Brenda Coulter lives somewhere in the Midwestern U.S. with the hunk o' burnin' love she married way back in 1975. Having successfully brought up two boys (they chew with their mouths closed and they always remember to say thank you), Brenda now makes up love stories, spends far too much money and time on her cottage-style flower garden, and endeavors to wait patiently for grandchildren.

Loved it!!!! Characters felt very real, sometimes confused, sometimes misguided, but striving to be their best. A rock star with a troubled upbringing and wild living has recently become and Christian and tries to make sense of his life now, what does God want him to do, and how can he get past his old music. Add the girl next door, who has known him since they were kids, had a different upbringing, has been a Christian her whole life, lost her mom a few years ago and is now struggling with letting go for her mother's dream. These two had such a great relationship, but neither could really see it for what it really was. Finally something clicks in their brains and they see what everyone else sees and that scares them. How are they going to deal with it and what will happen? I did not want to put this one down. I loved the characters were flawed in their own unique ways, this just made them more relatable. I would definitely read more by this author.

I thought the plot was believable and really great. The author truly helps you to feel and understand the characters so well. I liked especially that the story was about a rock star. This was an unusual element that really intrigued me and made the story more interesting! Great job Brenda Coulter! I look forward to reading more of her books.

HASH(0x9db7a480) out of 5 stars Another winner from Brenda Coulter May 31 2012
By Amazon Customer - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I was so thrilled to get the opportunity to read another book by Brenda Coulter! Her debut book Finding Hope(2003) hooked me on her writing. She has 3 other books in the Love Inspired series. I downloaded this e-book yesterday and finished reading it today. I loved it!
The edgy character Rock Star hero of the book is called Jeb (his initials) by his one true friend, Laney, a very caring and giving young lady. They have been apart for 16 years and have had limited contact over this time period. Jeb returns to his hometown in Minnesota and reconnects with Laney. They have a true friendship, not a romantic relationship just yet. However, over the pages of the book you will find yourself sighing, crying, and smiling as their journey through life strengthens each one's spiritual growth and they discover just how much they mean to each other. Throw in Laney's adorable but eccentric match-making great aunts and many moments of humor keep you smiling. This reader is definitely looking forward to see what romance the Three Graces will encourage next! Download this book at a terrific price for several hours of clean Christian inspirational reading pleasure. A book you can share with your Mother and daughter without hesitation. And let the author, Brenda, know how much you enjoy this read--she will respond to your every email promptly.

HASH(0x9db7a4d4) out of 5 stars Brenda does it again! June 29 2012

I have owned and loaned multiple copies of Finding Hope over the years... I've read it no less than a dozen times. I pulled it out last night after two years of not reading it because I needed a "comfort book" to go back to. I read a chapter last night before falling asleep, and finished it by noon today! Then, I get so excited, I always get online to see if we will get to read anymore about the Hartman family, and what do I see, but a new book... and it looks GOOD!!! E-format???? WHAT???? Why would anyone do that to me? Wait, I can read it on my phone??? So I do what any Hope and Charlie lovers should do, and set up an Amazon account, a Kindle account, load things up to my phone and buy the book!!! Six hours later.... OMGosh!!!!! I'm now in love with Jeb and Laney!!! I'm actually glad to see a longer story, an epilogue, and such a great couple again! Brenda, feel free to do more self-publishing! You have great stories, and if you decide to put out a paper copy of this, I'll need some spares to lend out!!!!

HASH(0x9db7a7b0) out of 5 stars Another fantastic read June 27 2012

Author Brenda Coulter has done it again. "Her Minnesota Man" is a heartfelt story that kept me hooked from Chapter 1. Laney and Jeb's love story made me laugh and cry. Brenda is a master storyteller, she has a gift for romance writing, and she writes with a Christian background in her books, which makes them even better. I loved her first book "Finding Hope", and have read all of her subsequent Love Inspired titles. This particular book is her first foray into self publishing, and it is a home-run. Well done, Ms. Coulter. Can't wait to read your next novel about the three Graces!

HASH(0x9db7a6a8) out of 5 stars Great Story, Masterfully Told June 25 2012
By Deborah Kinnard - Published on

I won't summarize the plot, since that's already done. This is a fast, easy read by a master storyteller. Jeb is completely believable as the main character and actually the book focused on him, which is a refreshing change in a romance novel. Laney served as his engaging -- and not at all cardboard-cutout -- love interest and "best friend forever." The bond between these two was easy to understand, and enhanced by the terrific secondary character. I did have an issue with his ex-manager, who seemed a bit too brittle and mean to be real, but otherwise I loved the characters exactly as drawn.

I'm told this was a "no-no" book for Coulter's primary publisher, and this is why it came direct to reader. I certainly cannot understand why this wasn't an instantly contracted project -- it's that good. As a voracious reader, I have no problem WHATSOEVER with the main character's being a rock musician, and I think it was brilliantly done to start the story a few days after Jeb accepts Christ. We can see the repercussions of his choice in the hangovers of his old life. Not a detail or a step was missed.

A wonderful read. I'll be looking forward to Coulter's next story and I now consider her work an auto-buy, whether trade published or direct-to-reader.

HASH(0x9db7a894) out of 5 stars Left me with a smile in my heart. June 25 2012

I loved this story. I loved the way Laney kept loving Jeb through his rough patches and forgetfulness. It is a realistic love story. One of love- the real, hard choices, sacrificial, warts and all sort of love. I loved Jeb. He wasn't quite a 'bad boy' because his heart shone through on every page. Charming, sexy, oh and did I mention he plays in a band.

A great story, I highly recommend you buy it! :)
