A very interesting book. Positives: a lot of detailed research, well presented, ample illustrations
Negatives: the book could do with a tighter editorial approach in order to get rid of the extremely high level of redundancy throughout. Also "loose" the personal touch in some of the illustrations and reevaluate the colors used in the printing as some of the red lettering is almost illegible. The book is supposed to be about a universal theme and this is quite spoiled by the hyper-personal aspects.
The book would also benefit if the pre-publishing record could be shortened. Just mentioning the fact that regular publishers were not prepared to go with item should be enough rather than a blow by blow account of the difficulties encountered. An additional point might be made in that very speculative data sets or photographic evidence is mixed-in liberally with with straight forward evidence which does not help the main thesis overmuch. Speculation is fine but speculative data and interpretations that are forced into the book should be clearly identified and sectioned accordingly.
Overall it is an excellent effort but it desperately needs a re-edit and all the teaser-scrip (wait for the next edition and I will tell you more sort of thing) should be dropped.
Recommended Highly to all.
