Carry-on size is critical, not just important, because every airline has their own rules when it comes to size. This bag pretty well meets the max limits for each of length, width and depth of most airlines. Although the depth says 8", it is slightly over 8" at the base. The telescoping handle extends to 39" above the ground, which is more than comfortable for me.

HASH(0xa3b27f30) out of 5 stars high sierra rolling laptop bag July 10 2011
By Ellen M. Berry - Published on
Received as a Mother's day gift (well, I did pick it out ahead of time). Absolutely love it! Very light weight. Easy to remove laptop at security check points. Several friends have noticed it and asked for info on it. Seems durable. Made in the USA! Am now looking for other bags to match this when for when I travel. Am so glad my hubby looked at my wish list on Amazon!

I liked the bag, but it was not small enough, i needed a 13" by 14" to fit under the seat in front on a plane

I wish the luggage has an expandable component to it. I'm surprised how small it is. It look bigger in the picture. I did think the handle is long enough for an average size person.

HASH(0xa3b8ba44) out of 5 stars Solid little carry-on. July 21 2012

It's a nice little carry-on bag that will fit under the airplane seat or easily into an overhead bin. You can get all your essentials inside it and a change a clothes. The "water bottle holder" comes in handy when you lugging it around too. Very nice bag and seems high quality, my only complaint is its slightly too small for a 17 inch laptop. However it's easy to take this and a laptop bag onto the plane with you.
HASH(0xa3b2be70) out of 5 stars This bag is exactly what I was looking for. Lightweight, roomy and great handle length. Jan. 1 2015

I seriously hurt my back dragging heavy photography equipment around a couple months ago and need to be careful in airports these days. This bag fits all my needs. It is small yet roomy, and takes the place of my shoulder tote bag. Most importantly when I add the "Travelon Bag Bungee" (you really need one of these, you just don't know it yet) ,I can securely attach my large and heavy camera bag to the tote handle. Getting through airports and onto an airplane is now a breeze.

Some reviews have stated that the bag is small. It is a large tote, not a suitcase. In my view It is more than big enough--you wouldn't want a "tote" any larger. It It has a great padded section for your computer and more than enough room for all the essentials you don't want to put in the hole of the airplane or need if your checked luggage doesn't arrive on time. It weighs 5 lbs.

Other reviews have said the handle isn't long enough. I didn't think it was long enough either when I first unpacked it and was really disappointed. Then I read where it has four section to the handle and I only had three extended. The 4th section is a bit recalcitrant on first tug--you really need to give it a (very) hard tug. After the first time it is fine. I am 5'8" and, when the tote is straight upright, the handle hits me mid waist. You wouldn't want he handle any longer.

After an active, bordering on arduous trip to Myanmar, I have had lots of experience with this bag on flights. It really saved my back walking those endless halls of international airports.

This is what I discovered about the bag and airplanes. On commuter prop planes like the ATR 72, the bag does not fit in the overhead compartment (it's too deep), but fits fine in the space under the aisle seat (not the window seat). On my Dragonair flight from Yangon to Hong kong, I was in Economy and the space between my seat and the back of the seat in front of me was too narrow to get the bag down under the seat. It fit fine in the overhead compartment however on this Airbus 320. I have never seen such limited knee space on an airline, so most of the time you should be able to get this bag under the seat.
