After some ~20 holes solder will collect and solidify at the base of the neck (near the disk at the entrance to the chamber) due to the low temperature at that point of the assembly. This requires opening the chamber up while still plugged in to take a soldering iron and a wick to remove all of the built up solder. This part is far worse than with the manual pump, which just required opening the nozzle and sticking a screwdriver through it from the inner side, though it had to be done much more often. Additionally what should have only required me plugging in one thing has turned into two. Since the pump often does not eject solder very well occasionally a blob of solder will leak from the nozzle and create a mess on whatever is underneath it, but it's at least better than fine solder particles.
I'm going to have to test if it's being underpowered by my outlet or something.
I have used motorized tools before however this was my first time with this style of suck/spit action.
Point at your bench before releasing the red button. Cleaning ahould be minimal since it ejects the old solder with each cycle.
Tip top. Stress levels lowering.

The recoil can catch you off guard (potential finger burns for the tired), and I found I compensated for by using more pressure - which increases the risk of lifting a trace. I wouldn't use this on a complex board I am repairing, particularly an older board that has weak traces, but it works well enough if you need to remove parts off a junker board. It takes a bit to get to heat (5 minutes sounds right), and it seems to burn off a film that smells an awful lot like rubber on the first go (didn't happen on the second). The trigger button activates a solenoid, and releasing it makes it spit out - it's a bit awkward, and keep in mind what it spits out is molten solder. A pistol grip would improve a lot of the ergonomics of its use, particularly with that recoil, but not terribly needed

Two things I've noticed: give it a couple of extra seconds before hitting the button, to make sure it melts the solder on both sides of the board, and have a pair of pliers handy to snug down the tip once it heats up the first time (or maybe every time - I don't know whether expansion and contraction will cause the tip to loosen every time you fire it up).
Using this tool I was able to very quickly desolder almost all the pins. The only place it didn't work was on some pins that were very close to a heat-sensitive part (the nozzle tip on this is about 1/4" diameter), so I used a regular iron and wick on that.
When I first started using it, one click of the suction button would result in one cycle of the suction being activated. After a few minutes, it took on a bit of a 'stutter', so that one click generated several suction pulses. I don't know if that was an issue with the device, or with how I was holding it, or what. It still worked fine, despite this.
I recommend using some sort of eye protection with this. While most of the suction cycles worked as you'd expect, sometimes it would generate an outward splatter of hot solder across nearby areas of the board. Easily cleaned up with a thumbnail. And hey, any time you're desoldering using any method, you're going to need to do cleanup on the board when you're done.
So in my brief experience so far it isn't a perfect tool, but it's a pretty good tool, and it handily did the job I bought it for so I'm happy with it.
