From the manufacturer
July 4, 1918, Hilroy commenced operation.
Disregarding the pessimism of skeptical business associates, Roy Corson Hill, borrowed a large amount on a life insurance policy and added it to a separate amount, which his parents obtained by mortgaging their home. With this capital, he formed his own stationery company - Canadian Pad and Paper Co. Limited.
Operations commenced on the second floor of a re-modeled residence situated at 255 Wellington Street in Toronto using rented second-hand equipment and employing six people including himself.
Hill was the manager, salesman, shipper, receiver and paper cutter. He worked between 7am and 11pm. In the evenings he would cut and trim the pads of books manufactured during the day. His wife would come to the factory by streetcar to wrap and label the days production.
In 1919, Roy Hill invested an additional cost to keep pace with the growth of the company.

What I also like about these notebooks is that they have metal coils which makes it a lot easier to write on all sides and pages without having your hand stuck or blocked by the margins.
There are better notebooks but these offer the best value for your dollar by far.
Purchased the 3 pack, because I got tired of taking notes on printer paper and wanted an actual lined piece of paper to work on. The added bonus to purchasing these is that the individual books themselves can be used to further organize your notes. Simply create a table of contents at the beginning, number or mark your pages of interest and there you have it, a well organized notebook.
I know so much of our world is online or in the cloud these days, but sometimes it’s nice to have hard copies of certain things. My internet occasionally goes down, and then more than ever does it emphasize the importance of having hard copies available.
At $14.89 for three books, each with 200 pages that amounts to $0.024 -- per page. So yes, I’d say that’s a good deal, and these will no doubt last you quite some time.
As they are multi-coloured options, but not variated online, it's hard to purchase them online if you're picky on your specific colours you want.
So if you're looking for a cheap book to take notes in, and to ditch the binder I recommend this product. If you want to take notes, swap pages, or add in hand outs, you are better off with a binder with paper you can add in it.
I received a grey notebook and while that would not be my colour of choice, I am completely satisfied with this purchase.
While it is no frills, the price is right.
it is what it says it is: a 140 page 3 hole coil notebook, so if someone ordered this expecting different, who knows what they were thinking? 5 stars because it is exactly what I was expecting, and it's such a cheap price for a decent notebook.
