The first book in the sexy new Grayson Brothers series by Christina Phillips!

Every good girl loves a very bad boy...

Scarlett Ashford needs a date for her father's wedding. Only she doesn't just need a guy in a suit-she needs a bodyguard. The only problem is that Jackson Grayson is big and gorgeous and way too sexy. So much so that Scarlett's tempted to let this hot bad boy ruin her oh-so-good reputation...

Jackson doesn't do relationships and he certainly doesn't sleep with clients. Yet he can't fight their inconvenient attraction, or how badly he wants Scarlett's warm and wicked curves against his body. He wants her. Now. Even if it's just for one night, and even if walking away the next morning isn't as easy as he thought.

Besides, one hot and incredibly intense night between a bad boy and a pampered princess could never turn into something real...could it?

HASH(0xa3132a38) out of 5 stars Humor, good sex and dynamic characters trump the fact that it's a little predictable June 9 2015

Ok if you are brand new to romance and have never ever read a girl meets bodyguard, needs bodyguard services, has hot monkey sex with bodyguard and falls in love with bodyguard story, this may be really fresh and exciting plot for you. For the rest of us, it's a very familiar story. This is an exception to the rule that familiarity breeds contempt, however, because this is still an enjoyable book.

Scarlett needs a bodyguard for a seriously dubious reason- like, I completely don't get it. Jackson happens to be a bodyguard and answers the call. Scarlett is from a wealthy family and Jackson, not so much. Despite the vast distance between their socio-economic status' they are instantly attracted to one another. They proceed to have what I like to call 4 star sex involving many interesting surfaces (some vertical).

Despite the predictability of the book, I seriously enjoyed the character depiction. Scarlett was interesting and nuanced and not just some rich socialite. She was strong, not overly angsty and funny at times. I particularly liked the fact that Scarlett was fed up with trying to please her emotionally distant Father and was venturing away from the beaten good girl path for the first time. Interestingly, Jackson has his own Daddy issues that have shaped the choices he's made in life. The parallel between the vastly different fathers the main characters had was well done and added a lot of depth to the relationship in the story.

Jackson was also my kinda alpha male. He grew up in a tough environment and had the battle scars to prove it. As you might expect, he didn't "do" relationships but instantly wants to destroy any man who looks in Scarlett's direction.

Aside from the kind of predictable storyline the only other thing that could be a drawback in this book was the family drama...on both sides of the relationship. There was a lot going on in Jackson and Scarlett's family and sometimes the drama threatened to overshadow the relationship. On the other hand, it alleviated some of the predictability of the plot line and gave the story some depth so it's not all bad.

In summary: I recommend this book because it is well written, intelligent and funny with some great sex. You might feel a little ho-hum about the plot but hey think of it like a familiar face in a crowd of books.

HASH(0xa3132fd8) out of 5 stars Sexy and engaging June 9 2015

I very much liked the premise of this story; the heroine hiring a date/bodyguard for her father's wedding. And Scarlett and Jackson create quite some heat because from the start, this book is filled with sexy-time.

"I'm going to make you pay for that later."
"Oh yes? How're you going to do that?"
"On your knees."

There is more to this couple than the fact they are compatible in bed. Scarlett comes from a wealthy family and is somewhat the socialite, but is grounded with no airs and graces whilst Jackson is the opposite, yes he runs a successful business now, but growing up was tough for him and his two brothers. He has no inclination to settle down but Scarlett unleashes something in him. And he her, because she finds herself being rather honest around him.

"You promised I would scream. And I didn't."

Hold Me Until Midnight is an engaging read and Christina Phillips has created a likeable couple with a great chemistry, who are hot and sexy together yet not without their vulnerabilities. I think there was the opportunity for more in terms of Jackson's past; what we were privy to brought some emotion and it would have been nice to see this developed a little more, but that said there is scope in the future from his brothers. I also had issues with the time-hop and the fact it came from nowhere; it didn't really flow and I had to re-read to make sure I'd not missed something.

But on the whole this is very promising start to the series, Jackson's dynamic with his brothers was great, the foundations have been laid and I will certainly read Alex and Cooper's stories if we're given the chance. Plus I'd like to meet their Gran, who I actually thought would have been a nice inclusion to this story.

I do love a good girl meets bad boy story. In Hold Me Until Midnight, Christina Phillips has done a great job of capturing the relationship between Jackson Grayson and Scarlett Ashford. These two are from opposite sides of the tracks and in any other circumstance; they wouldn’t even be in each other’s universe. But with one meeting the gravitation pull is nothing short of magnetic.

Scarlett has the best heart and simply wants someone to escort her to a family event. I loved her spirit and that she wasn’t interested in her family’s wealth, but simply the need to continue her mother’s mission of supporting a shelter for victims of domestic violence.

So Jackson was super hot, but I loved him for the man he was striving to be. A good guy who wanted to help his neighborhood and the children in it by supporting a community center that provides all the activities needed to keep them out of the trouble he found as a kid. That’s what pretty much stole my heart.

These two together were definitely volcanic, but what I really loved was watching their discovery of each other and knock down their walls, as well as the preconceived notions they had. It is a sweet love story with quite a bit of sass – I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Scarlett Ashford needs more than just a date for her father’s upcoming wedding; she needs someone intimidating, someone who isn’t afraid to stand up to the people in her rich and snobby world. Someone like Jackson Grayson.

Jackson and his brothers have worked hard to climb up from where they used to be but they still haven’t forgotten their roots. Just because Jackson doesn’t think much of Scarlett or her kind doesn’t mean he won’t take their money. Curiosity plays a bigger part than he’s willing to admit though since Scarlett is more than what she appears to be. Jackson breaks his company’s no sleeping with clients rule for Scarlett but soon finds himself way in over his head!

Hold Me Until Midnight had exactly what I was looking for: A romance between two people who on the surface appear to be total opposites.

Jackson may have looked the part of a sexy ruffian but at heart he was a total softie and who doesn’t love that? I know I loved his gruff exterior and complete befuddled state after spending time with Scarlett. Author Christina Phillips may have given him the looks of Norse gods (The body of Thor and Loki’s dark hair to be precise, yum!) but Jackson wasn’t perfect. He had these preconceived ideas of Scarlett when he first met her but they were blown out of the water and then he just didn’t know what to do with the attraction that was quickly turning into affection and respect. Poor guy, apparently being wrong wasn’t something he was good at.

In the beginning of the book, Scarlett needs a date to her father’s wedding in order to scare a persistent suitor off. She seemed like a tough woman who didn’t fall into the typical rich girl category yet she couldn’t stand up to an annoying, manipulative creep who kept harassing her? I felt like she needed a bit more backbone and more of a mean streak when it came to unwanted advances. Scarlett tended to hide behind Jackson and lose her power of speech whenever her unwanted suitor was around. The woman needed to empower herself and teach that slimy jerk exactly why he should have taken “no” for an answer. Still though, I liked Scarlett. I liked that she didn’t shy away from Jackson like a virginal miss. He may have intimidated her with his over the top sexiness but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to go after him like the last chocolate bar on the highest shelf in the store. She wasn’t afraid of hard work or getting her hands dirty.

Quick and to the point, Hold Me Until Midnight also made room for Jackson’s brothers Alex and Cooper and the secretary of their security business Ella. I’m so hoping that the author has books planned for these three because they were interesting, particularly Ella. She’s known the three brothers for years and it was obvious she didn’t take their crap or seem intimidated by them. I didn’t feel like the story was dragged down by these extra characters, in fact they added a bit more information to the Grayson brother’s background because Jackson didn’t share more than the basics to be honest. I’m curious to know more about them.

Final Verdict: While I wait for the next book I think I’ll re-read this one. It’s not a hardship, I promise!

Another scorching erotic contemporary romance from Christina Phillips! I just loved reading about what happened when ‘bad boy’ Jackson and socialite Scarlett fall hard for each other.

In an attempt to ward off potential scheming and matchmaking from her stepmother-to-be, Scarlett hires the larger than life Jackson (major hottie alert!) from a security firm to masquerade as her date at her father’s wedding. Yet as soon as Jackson and Scarlett set eyes on each other sparks fly and passion ignites in an erotic romance that combines sexual tension and scorching scenes with a lot of heart. The inner dialogue of this couple and their ensuing banter as they circle around each other and try and hide their emotions is vastly entertaining and absolutely priceless!

Scarlett is basically a ‘good girl’ and hiring Jackson is the most daring thing she has ever done. She doesn’t do one night stands or even ‘friends with benefits.’ I loved the fact that meeting Jackson challenges all her preconceived ideas about what a good girl should do and it was hugely entertaining to watch her unravel…

Jackson, a man with a dark past, does not do relationships. Not only that but he and his brothers, who run a well-respected security firm, have a golden rule – never to compromise their professional relationship with a client. Yet how can Jackson reconcile this with the intsa-lust he feels for Scarlett, especially when it appears she feels the same? I was desperate to find out what happens when morning comes and whether bodyguard and client go their separate ways and into their very different worlds for good.

I, like Scarlett, immediately fell for Jackson’s considerable charms and enjoyed his brand of caring but dominant alpha male. Scarlett is sweet and sassy and his perfect match. There is plenty of character and plot development amidst the hot scenes as their lives begin to intertwine, the love stakes increase and barriers to a possible HEA appear.

To summarise: This is another fast-paced, romantic read from Christina Phillips with many sizzling scenes, ranging from cheeky to romantic and downright sexy. Recommended to readers of erotic romance who like a sweet and hot story of how two people from opposite sides of the tracks unexpectedly come together against all the odds!An ARC of this book was given to me by the publishers via NetGalley for the purpose of a fair and honest review.
