4.0 out of 5 stars Garfield rocks Jan. 30 2010
By Practical mom - Published on

We bought this for our 7 year old who loves Garfield. The directions are a little above his level right now but when he matures a bit, the pictures are clear and easy to follow. I think we thought it would be a bigger book but we are happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drawing Garfield Oct. 4 2012
By Katiria - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Its a skinny book with large drawings and shows you how to draw Garfield in 5 differenet facial positions, sleeping, sitting, standing, and running. Then it shows you how to draw 3 Odie faces, and 3 positions. Then it shows you how to draw Jon's Arlene's and Nermals' faces and 2 positions. As well as Pooky. Then at the end it gives you examples of sound effects to draw and there are cartoon strips all through out the book. Total pages 32

5.0 out of 5 stars After a long excellent surprise Aug. 11 2009
By T.R. Donovan - Published on
Format: Paperback
I had been wondering when the folks over at Paws Inc. would be rolling out a "how to draw" book-- seeing as Garfield has had much comic-appeal over the last thirty years.

As an amateur artist myself, I was quite satisfied with the contents of the book. It offers many poses and angles of drawing Garfield. It was also great to see examples of how to draw Jon, Odie, Arlene, Nermal-- and even Pooky.

When I had first heard the book's title I had assumed it would also include the characters from "U.S. Acres," but it does not. That, however, does not take away from the excellence of how this book was put together.

What I found to be the added bonus was towards the back-- which detailed how the daily layouts of the panels are put together, and how it's even colored--using PhotoShop.

This definitely is a must-have for all Garfield enthusiast-- and cartoonists!

5.0 out of 5 stars Want to know how to draw Garfield & Friends, this is the book Jan. 28 2011

This book takes you step by step in drawing Garfield and his friends. Every page gives clear instructions, details and are easy to understand. Once you master the basic details, you can take a step farther and create your own scenes, add more facials, accessories to all of them. This book is excellent. My son loves it and is able to draw some really good pictures for his age (7).

2.0 out of 5 stars Just a few poses... March 5 2013

Children (older than 6) enjoy copying the poses, but after a while tend to get bored and became a coloring book instead.
