HASH(0x9cc53054) out of 5 stars Into the Night Reviews ... How to Liv by Megan Keith Jan. 23 2014
By Tami-Into the Night Reviews - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy of How to Liv and also to have the time to start reading it immediately. Apart from a brief break at the 51% mark (girl's gotta eat!) I devoured How to Liv in one sitting and loved every word of it!

Being Australian, I loved that this was a book written by an Australian, about Australians, set in Australia. So many things were so familiar and relatable, which made it that much easier for me to lose myself in the story.

Liv has been burnt in the game of love (badly and more than once) so is not interested in the prospect of a relationship. Her self-confidence has been shattered and with her more glamorous, confident and outgoing sister to compete with, really what's the point?? Liv is a caring and loyal friend, not a total recluse, but her time is spent mostly at work and she doesn't believe she'll ever get her happily ever after.

Liv encounters Joel at the supermarket and "ermahgerd" (to quote Liv's sister Ally) he is perfect. P-E-R-F-E-C-T!! Hot, considerate, funny, sexy, talented and just a little controlling in the bedroom ... perfect!! Liv can't believe he's single, or that he would be interested in her. Despite her doubts, she finds herself falling for him and falling hard.

I loved watching the relationship between Liv and Joel unfold. They were nervous, they were funny and as they slowly started to relax a little they were gorgeous together. Liv's past experiences are a significant challenge for her. She has trust issues and struggles with her fear of being hurt again, continually waiting for the "other shoe to drop" because surely what is going on is too good to be true? Joel has baggage of his own and despite his insistence on no secrets with Liv, he keeps one, never quite able to find the right time or the right way to disclose. This has dire consequences for the two and it was painful to read this unfold.

Megan Keith has an engaging writing style. I got lost in her characters and story very quickly. She establishes an environment that is detailed, without being overly so, but enough that I could visualise people and places easily. There are many fabulous characters in this story. I'll confess I was not a fan of Liv's sister Ally - suffice to say she treated her sister badly and yet Liv continued to allow her to live in her home and came to her defence regularly. Liv's workmates were relatable, reminding me of my own co-workers and the fun we have. Adam and Raelene, Joel's brother and sister in law were your typical, down to earth Aussie's - and some of the conversations with Raelene were hilarious. I would be remiss in not mentioning Chelsea, Joel's super gorgeous niece - she's such a cutey!!

How to Liv sucked me in and kept me reading. I laughed, I had moments where my heart was breaking for the characters and let me tell you, Megan Keith can write some steamy bedroom scenes *fans face* ;) Go grab yourself a copy, a packet of Tim Tams and curl up for a thoroughly enjoyable read - oh and I dare you not to fall in love with Joel!

HASH(0x9ca7d66c) out of 5 stars Spank You. Jan. 23 2014

I just wanted to tell you I absolutely loved Olivia and Joel, they made a fantastic couple, it was like they were meant to be together, You could see that she was the responsible one, always there when needed because she was always relied on and she seemed happy to do it. Joel was such a sweetheart I loved him from the beginning when he kept bumping into her in the aisles and then handed over his ice cream because hers was melting. The humour in this story was great to I enjoyed this novel thoroughly so spank you for taking the time in creating such a wonderful novel.

HASH(0x9d2f4b7c) out of 5 stars Gorgeous romance. Feb. 16 2014
By Foxylutely Books! - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
*ARC provided by the author in exchange for my honest review

There isn’t a book that Megan Keith has written that I have not loved and this one is no exception. This is a sweet but powerful and sensual story of love and all that entails. What I loved about this book is that is it a relatively simple romance but holds some seriously hot in between the sheets action! However it is a story that is easy to relate to as it covered a romance that you could envisage happening to an everyday couple. There was no need for multi billionaire CEOs, or commando alpha men, as it was engaging throughout in its normalcy and simplicity.

Olivia (or Liv as she comes to be known) is a normal 30 year old working in a factory and after a long shift she stops off at the supermarket for her end of week shopping. It was whilst she was traipsing up and down the aisles that she spots the super-hot guy who she then keeps running into at various points in the store. However Liv has been through some bad relationships in the past that have given her a major inferiority complex so she thinks she is nothing special to offer a man like that. But then their eyes meet over the pack of Tim Tams (I really need to try these!) and thus begins the start of Joel and Liv.

Joel was an instant hit for me - so likeable and lovable. When he is first described to the reader he comes across as a shy guy (he even blushes) but once he and Liv get together and the first bedroom scene – whoo hoo he’s definitely a man in control that’s for sure! The whole package of Joel is everything a woman would want – shy, considerate, funny, handsome and sexy! But he also has his own hidden anxieties which have had a major impact on his life in recent years. He hasn’t let go of his past and has just been existing and not living. Until he meets Liv.

I loved the whole romance development from the first tender and shy walks and talks to the first night of passion, then to the wrong impressions leading to insecurities and arguments which in turn lead to some major hot make up sessions. It has everything you would imagine to happen. Liv opens up fully to Joel with her past relationships that have left a lasting impression on her which is the result of some of her actions she takes out on Joel. Unbeknownst to Liv he is hiding something but it is something he feels could push Liv away from him. But they learn to trust one another which when Joel finally reveals his secret it could have had drastic effects on their future.

To be honest I didn’t really think his secret was as bad as it was made out and I wanted to shake Liv when she acted like she did when she found out (and then she didn’t ask for the full story when the secret was revealed) This is something that they finally work through though together and is a turning point in their relationship.

This was a beautiful story of two people who find each other and learn to trust and love each other over every adversity thrown at them. For me that was wonderful to read and enjoy. The epilogue was an added bonus for the reader and gave an insight to Joel and Liv’s future life. A happy sigh escaped when I got to the end of the book. Gorgeous.

HASH(0x9d2f645c) out of 5 stars Outstanding!!!! Feb. 14 2014

Gifted copy received from author for honest review!

I have given this book 5 stars as I absolutely loved it. From the very first chapter I felt like I had a permanent smile on my face. Megan has written this book so well, I couldn't help be so engrossed with the characters. I laughed, cried and felt rather HOT from the sex....LOL.
Olivia Moore is almost 30 and works at an essential oil company, her sister Ally lives temporarily with her. After another hectic day at work she is at the supermarket and sees a rather hot man there and they keep bumping into each other.
She reaches for a pack of Tim Tam biscuits (a fave Aussie treat!!) and so does the handsome man, aka Joel Turner, 35, tiler and GORGEOUS!!
Eventually from this meeting they get to know one another and I have to say we see a lot of great things from these two. There is some heartbreak as with any relationship, some very interesting parts involving other characters and some hard truths that lead them eventually to their HEA.
At different parts throughout the book, I just had to message tell her that OMG I can't believe that just happened.
I now have a new favourite word, instead of saying Thanks, I will now say Spanks...when you read the book you will understand. The banter between the 2 main characters as well as with their friends is very entertaining. I love Joel's friends Adam, Raelene and their daughter Chelsea, kind of wish I had friends like them, so caring and fun to be around. Karen, one of Olivia's workmates, was a hoot!!!
All in all this was an outstanding book by Aussie author Megan Keith!!!
Make sure you put it on your TBR list today, you will not be disappointed!!

**received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review**
A story of two people who are made for each other.
I am absolutely enamored with Joel and Liv's story. A chance who would ever think that a chance encounter and a bag of Tim Tams could change two people's lives forever.
Liv's character is so likable and relatable. Some of us have been where she is and have felt insecure for whatever reason and the need to be guarded because of past relationships. She is an extremely realistic character.
I love Joel. Even with his past, he is perfect. He sees right into Liv's heart and soul. He's a compassion person and extremely gentle with just the right amount of lust and sex appeal.
I enjoyed reading "How to Liv" and give this book 5 stars. I recommend it to you all.
